IT’S OUT OF THIS WORLD. Reed barely remembers his childhood, from the blackouts and the supposed decease that almost took him, he had been eager to reach adulthood and become his own person, away from his father. however, he remembers bits and pieces. mutant rights, the rallies, the civil war coming through both mutant faction; and those above the fight who became legends. Captain Marvel as she was called back then he remembers; he was only a teen when he saw her in the news, but like every other hero, they mostly went away with time. 

“Thanks.” and hazel eyes look back at the woman with disbelief. “For saving me back there.” The wreckage was his own doing though, he still remembers the fight, Reeva and how he blew the whole building away. He grips his hand close to his chest, but the pain wasn’t there anymore as his hand glows for a second. Though he keeps his distance, not wanting to hurt her (though, knowing what he had heard of her, he thinks it wouldn’t hurt her). “It’s   well, not to be rude, Captain, but, half of the world thought you gone. Same as with everyone else.” The X-Men, the Avengers? The world seem to be lacking heroes these days.

HE DOESN’T SEE IT COMING. for all of his training and reflexes, he isn’t able to move away fast enough from her grip before his back is against a wall. he did see the glint in her eye, one he recognises from other moments in his life; he is used to neglect that glint and move on. he did it plenty of times with peggy in the past, ignoring it for the sake of a mission; he had been guilty of the same with natasha as they both fell comfortably in the friendship wagon. but carol is different; and she is the one that takes the initiative.

not that he minds the feeling of her body against his own. and when her lips reach up for his own, his head leans down and meet her half way, partially surprised, but mostly welcoming the feeling, as hands smoothly move from her shoulders to hold on her waist, one arm wrapping around to flush her close, while the other settles on the crook of her neck, deepening the kiss.

training with her is different. it’s similar to training with wanda or someone like thor, it’s exciting, really, to fight someone much more powerful than he is and see the limits of his own strength. no powers though, and it’s matched so far, but she throws a photon blast he blocks with his shield, using it to divert her attention and tackle her to the ground. the mattress below is soft and her voice brings a smirk to his features, her weight on top of him. “Not always.” the captain manages to said, and he makes no move to get away from her. “   unless you want us to. easily arranged, captain.”

“SHIELD doesn’t EXIST anymore." But he flashed the badge anyway. A relic of a time that seemed long past, though only a couple of years had stretched on since the fall. Why he carried it with him was an answer he’d stopped looking for. Tucking it back into his pocket, the man folded his arms across his chest, looking the woman up and down. “Are you one of the Avengers or something? Nobody ex-SHIELD runs around in a suit like that...”
