1. My goals and objectives with codetalk:

I really hope to be able to learn how to build a website. I feel that so far I have learned pretty good information in terms of learning the actual code, and the information on image quality was really useful (always good for someone who works with images in photoshop or as a photographer.)

I have images and videos I want to put up on a website and I feel confident that Codetalk can help guide me to the HTML land of html milk and honey!!!!!!

I also hope to gain a network of other people like me who are interested in web. I hope to share my skills and knowledge as others are sharing them with me. 

2. Career

I’m like a starfish with my different arms functioning as the different paths that are pulling me i different directions. As of this moment it seems my center would be Codetalk where I learn how to build a website!

You never really know how grueling and brutal and difficult it can be to search for a job in the workforce and ultimately find one (or two or three! for those part-timers and freelance people)......BUT I feel that who DOESN’T want “web development” listed as one of their skills!!!! NO ONE!!!!!!!!

So yeah, to recap: starfish center: web development. Arms and legs: video, photography, and who knows what else.

Life goals. What am I doing to work towards my life goals:

I have been doing a lot lately, actually :) Its pretty amazing to think of how much work I’ve been doing, and yet there is much more ahead, even as I write this. 

Basically, as soon as I re-edit my resume and make a coverletter, I have to apply for jobs. Thats a pretty big one. Another thing I am doing is using the skills I am gaining in this class to make my personal website. Another thing I am doing is starting 3 classes again in the fall at smc and ucla extension, that are compatible with my goals of creating art for a website to share with others. All this is a lot, so the last thing is keeping sane while doing everything.

3. Skills confident in

Yoga, violin playing, cooking, meditating.

Characteristics Im proud of.

Resilient (even if it takes a long time to bounce back up), flexible, going with the flow. 

4. What do I need to improve or work on.

I went thru a very hard experience recently which kind of “traumatized me” as they say. I’m moving on and it’s a blast.
