💪 : what’s their ability they brag about the most?
whether sincerely or not, jun brags most about his skill as a duelist! he somewhat grows out of it as he gets older, but even still, on the dueling field itself jun is very confident & somewhat boastful about his prowess. it’s far from unheard of in the dueling world, however; being sure of one’s skill & being able to deliver on that confidence is a trait common between some of the greatest duelists to play the game, in relation to both jun’s contemporaries & the many legends who came before them.
all in all, jun surprisingly isn’t much of a braggart in regards to much else in his life; even in his younger, less mature years. this is, in part, because of his desire not to mirror any of his brothers’ actions, as he wished ( almost to a point of outright paranoia ), to be nothing like them. but it also derives from his pride in himself as a duelist, and how far he’s come despite so much opposition from the people who should be most supportive of his ambitions in life.
🔪 : have they ever risked death?
technically yes, though he wasn’t entirely certain that he could ( and would ) ‘ die ’ in the dimension world. he was incredibly aware that he was taking a huge risk, though, just by going there, and perhaps the possibility of death was floating around somewhere in the back of his mind. regardless, it was a risk he willingly took to fight alongside judai & their friends, with little concern for himself, in the long run. his desire to help them & protect them, if he could, highly outweighed any fears he had surrounding what would happen to him, personally. they had pretty much become his entire world at that point, his family, and though he may struggle to say it outright because he has the emotional intelligence of a walnut, he is deeply loyal to his friends & endlessly grateful for everything they have done for him, and how they’ve allowed & encouraged him to grow.
being ‘ sacrificed ’ in the dimension world was actually extremely traumatic for jun, and he has a pretty abysmal track record when it comes to dealing with & processing his own trauma, so he tried to just ignore it for a while, hoping he could suppress the memory. there actually isn’t a lot of information offered in canon ( i sometimes tend to just ignore some aspects of the anime anyway because they infuriate me, especially stuff surrounding the treatment of jun’s character, so maybe there is and i’m just choosing to ignore it lmao who knows ) about exactly what happened to him & the others except for the fact that they were alive & yubel was just being a dick to them essentially, but i mean that’s still a pretty terrifying place & they more or less had no clue what was going to happen to them in the long run, and jun had never really been through anything that mortally serious before, where his life very well could have been at stake. so it messed him up a little, but at the end of the day, he’d do it all over again if it meant he could be there for his friends & all that gay shit.
