While the sky was stunning being this close and whipping through the clouds at such a breakneck pace, Cody did not like how far above the ground they were wheeling through the air. After making the mistake of looking down only once, Cody did everything in his power to keep his eyes focused on the swiftly growing shape of the air bison in front of them. As Obi-Wan flew them closer, Cody could more clearly confirm the forms of Fives and Echo hanging onto Boga’s flank for dear life. They weren’t screaming anymore and Cody could only hope that was due to them having lost their voices after the takeoff.
Obi-Wan pulled them up alongside Boga and Cody was able to make brief eye contact with his younger brothers before Obi-Wan did something to the air currents and boosted them above Boga’s back.
Cody looked on in confusion for a second before Obi-Wan looked back at him through an opening in the glider’s wings.
“Trust me!” Obi-Wan shouted.
Before Cody could do more than shake his head in confusion, Obi-Wan had flipped the glider upside down causing Cody to lose his grip from the shock. With a shout, Cody dropped and felt his back hit the top of Boga’s before instinct kicked in and he rolled onto his stomach to better grip Boga’s fur. After he’d deposited dropped Cody, Obi-Wan had wasted no time in zipping toward Boga’s head and antlers where Cody could see the reins whipping untamed in the wind.
“A little more warning would’ve been appreciated, you know?!” Cody shouted at Obi-Wan’s back.
Cody didn’t wait to see if that would get a response, but instead turned his attention to getting his brothers safely— or more safely at least— up on Boga’s back. Trying to find the balance of keeping his grip sturdy for his own safety and not too tight to hurt the air bison, Cody made his way slowly to the side where he’d flown past Fives and Echo.
