I had a blast from kpop past
I watched the 2015 Dream Concert with my mom on netflix and wow I probably stopped listening in 2015 or 2016 so it was crazy to see all these bands I loved and knowing they arent around anymore and having my mom (a current big kpop fan) tell me some of them I thought were still around fell off the face of the Earth so I'd like to review with you my experience/memories/realizations from watching this.
Red Velvet doesn't change and that's a good thing. They're adorable and I love them and would take a bullet for them.
Nine Muses really were their namesake. They were actually like 7 feet tall goddesses. If you like girls and haven't heard of them yet go youtube them.
SPEED was actually part of a bigger coed group. Coed School was a coed group before KARD. Thank the people who paved the way for your new bands.
The girl group aegyo thing was HUGE. Idk if it still is but I'm guessing the girl crush thing is big now.
BTS wasn't the headline group and were no where as big as they are now. I miss the days when I could watch a non kpop video and not see an ARMY/BTS comment. I'm happy for you guys but calm down.
Watching MFBTY is like watching your mom, dad, and uncle party (if your mom, dad, and uncle were cool and could rap). If you like khiphop and don't know them go watch Bang Diggy Bang Bang. Also Yoon Mi Rae is gorgeous and owns her half Korean half black culture and I love it.
I'm not sure if EXID is still around but if they are I have no doubt they're still being peoples sexual awakening.
I think T-ara is long gone but it's a shame cause they were huge at one point and made some BOPS like Lovey-Dovey. Again go watch if you like super poppy feel good stuff, you won't regret it.
Secret was AMAZING and I will throw hands with ANYONE who used to call Hyosung fat but praises Hwasa for being curvy.
VIXX were goth icons and yet chose a poppy song for this concert. Not a fan of that choice.
4Minute really had the best style.
Without fail every summer Sistar released the soundtrack for that summer. If they still do this someone please tell me. I need those good summer vibes.
B1A4 were really the definition of the cute innocent college boyfriend and I want them back.
KARA was a real band that actually existed and consisted of real etherial korean goddesses. Gyuri owned my ass and still does. Please send Hara love, she hasn't been well lately.
Infinite is one of the worlds best boy bands hands down. I don't care what anyone says they dance better than BTS. COME FIGHT ME ARMY I'M AN OLD INSPIRIT WHO WILL NOT BACK DOWN.
There was a point in the history of our world that Exo was the top hallyu boy band in Korea and the world and rightfully so. Also damn Yixing looks so good and Kyungsoo's voice just don't quit.
SHINee was, is, and will always be That Bitch™. I haven't seen them together in a long time and even longer with Jonghyun. I miss seeing them happy and goofing off like the brothers they are.
Super Junior didn't perform but should have. I prefer old SuJu to more recent SuJu but I'll always stand by my DILFs (they're not THAT old but let's face it, for kpop they're ancient.)
February 18, 2014 Speed released their first mini album: SPEED Circus
Speed (스피드) was originally a six-member boy under MBK Entertainment. They were originally part of the group COED School, but in 2013 the group separated with their female counterparts debuting in the group F-ve Dolls.
Member Taewoon did a lot of the writing for this album, and the whole group contributed whether it be by writing, composition, or choreography input. A repackaged album called “Look At Me Now” that had three additional tracks.
