HC asks, Neil and Charlie

okay this is gonna be long so i’m gonna post it under the cut!

N – what do they usually eat for breakfast?

neil has a tendency to forget to eat breakfast in the rush of the morning, he never really has an apetite right when he wakes up which makes it hard for him during the school year. so he usually has something small like a granola bar or a piece of fruit. if he has time to properly wake up though he loves to have waffles with whipped cream and strawberries.

E – how are they with children?

neil would make an amazing father, he has the compassion and flexibility that mix well with parenting. he would try to be the father he wished he had, which could lead to some complications but none too harsh. he loves children and enjoys being around them and watching them grown and learn. 

I – on a scale of one to ten, how much do they love themselves?

the answer to this fluxtuates, but generally remains rather average. he has low moment where self doubt can lead to self hate, but he knows how to pull himself away from that, or at least make it appear like he has. if anything he is the master of fake it till you make it. ( 5/6 )

L – what is their favorite board game?

sorry is neil’s favorite board game. he is prone to getting super invested and competitive and can sometimes get rather scary playing it. he enjoys the simplicity and excitement of it. 

C – can they swin well?

he can swin but doesn’t do it often. if he can avoid it he will. he just doesn’t particuarly like the idea of swimming around other people in a pool and open water terrifies him so both of those are a no go. he isnt a proffesional swimmer but does know how to swim.

H – what is their deadly sin?

charlie, much like the other dead poets, are stuck in their late teenage years. an age that stand on the brink of adulthood, and comes with it the delema of acting as mature as everyone around you expects while still being able to enjoy the final years of childhood. growing up attending welton, where maturity is expected from an even younger age created his ‘deadly sin’: immaturity. he only has a few years left before being thrust into the ‘real world’, so what’s wrong with being a little childish now and then? 

A – what are/were this character’s best subjects in school?

classes that are based more on personal analysis and opinion rather than strict facts and linear ways of thinking are his stronger ones. mostly classes related to the arts: music. art, english, ect. not only are they the classes he is more comfortable in, its the ones that he can actually enjoy. the fact that he can come to conclusion on his own and discover things without having to be walked through it by someone else also boasts his moral quite a bit. 

R – what are their hands like?

uhhh… like hands? i mean i guess they’re kinda nice and soft because he loves scented lotions and so he’s always applying it. he gets a ton of random cuts all over them that he can’t really explain the origin of because he doesn’t remember. occasionally paints his nails for fun if he can get away with it, usually reds or oranges.  

L – what is their favorite board game?

monopoly, he gets uber competitive like neil so they’re a deadly mix when it comes to playing any kind of game. he likes the long process of defeating someone as opposed to neil who likes the quickness of sorry. ( they always argue over who gets to chose what game to play. ) he enjoys having to think about long term strategy while playing and usually always wins. 

I – on a scale of one to ten, how much do they love themselves?

charlie comes across as cocky and self absorbed to basically anyone who has more than a five minute discussion with him. of course that’s not completely the case, he has mini identity crisises almost once a week ( case in point: his name change ) but thats rather common for his age. generally his self confidence is rather low, stemming from a bad home enviroment and struggling grades at a school that really pushes their academic sucsess, but he surely doesn’t seem that way to other people. ( ¾ )

E – how are they with children?

he’d be a quirky, jokish dad who generally loves to have a lot of fun with his kids. always has fun snacks with him, always. he is always super proud of whatever they do and support their phases of trying stuff out. a bit of a soccer mom at some points but other than that very lovely and involved in his childrens lives. wants kids and a big family and loves kids very much.

i’ve had like. a really rough time adjusting to living apart from my parents/home. not in the sense of being able to take care of myself like that’s fine. i’ve just felt really isolated and lonely and its been making me sad and anxious a lot.

i dont. really think i have like an actual genuine celebrity crush but i do think tessa thomspon and lucy liu are both pretty and talented.

i’m honestly really stressed about the social aspect of college right now. like academics wise and living on my own i’ve kind of accepted but i was GOD awful at making friends in high school and im honestly worried that im not gonna get any better at it by august.

4. do you think its ok to separate the artist from the art?

i think this is less a yes/no answer question and more a scale of understanding. i think there are certain contexts to which you can separate but it really depends on the context and actions of the artist. its also important to realize that harmful ideologies and actions of an artist can like. be reflected... in their art.

i’m assuming this means blogs, counting the ones i co-own, six.

in 7th grade i memorized william b travis’s famous “victory or death” letter from the battle of the alamo and i can still recite it decently.

i . m sorry i genuinely cant think of anything interesting gossip from high school im trying very hard to start repressing all of memories from that time and i have no stories from college yet.

idk probably some kind of subtle pride tattoo like the double venus symbol or smthin and i dont know where, wherever would be least painful and decently discreet.

okay even though im currently listening to almost exclusively queen and elton john i dont feel intelligent enough to comment on them other than. good music. when i hear freddie mercury sing though that shit makes me so happy bro. gay rights for both of them.

oh but ALSO for eden by hozier goes super hard and honestly so does take me church like even though it was really overplayed when it first came out that song slaps and is very emotionally gripping. also be by hozier, is so sexy, the way it uses the story of the garden of eden to talk about love and sex and stuff is beautiful and adam and eve discovering sin being freeing instead of burdening? go the fuck off hozier. damn.

19. what’s your favorite teacher you’ve ever had?

definitely either my ap us history/ap european history teacher or my ap lit teacher. they both made their classes the best that i had each year and were passionate about their subjects.
