@coffeeconjuring , From behind, Hanno would recognize the silvery locks of the predatory freshman anywhere and even as his heart stuttered from recognizing that he was walking upon a wolf of all things, the blonde strode towards the younger student with a loud yawn.
Though, there was one thing that bothered him about Jack... The Freshman was taller than him and yet in younger grade so he was younger in AGE as well. It was just backwards in Hanno's mind and a little aggravating.
Why'd he have to look so damn COOL?
It was almost unfair, but for now, Hanno pushed the thought away. It wasn't important--nor was it like he had this conversation in his head every time he saw the guy because he didn't. At all!
"Hey, Howl," Hanno called out, arms beginning to rise above is head as he stretched out. "We got track practice today or what?" If there was anyone who'd know, it was this guy. Now, he hadn't been paying attention the last time when he should have because he excelled in the competitions, but there had been equally important life-at-home things on his mind that day.
EARS TWITCHED AT THE SOUND, despite being aware of his presence long before any sound was made. at the best of times, his natural instincts were of good use — but other times, it would be irritating to be so acutely in tune with the world around him. he might have been able to settle for someone’s appearance taking him off - guard once or twice, if it meant that he didn’t need to know they were approaching from a few feet. being taller than those that were older than him was no surprise to jack, it had always been the usual situation for him. ever since he was a pup, he was always much taller than his siblings; it was a sign of being of good use for his family when he got older — but other than that, he didn’t think much of it. the better shape that he was in, the more help he could be when he returned home on his breaks. life on campus was undoubtedly much easier than the one they had back on pyroxene.
only when he hears his name called out will he give his attention. not often was he the one who would start a conversation, but ignoring an upperclassman was too rude for him to bear. giving a sideways glance, he’d recognized this senior from scent alone — his eyes accidentally coming in contact with upright ears before lowering his gaze to meet his eyes. thinking about it for a moment, he could have sworn that they were both at last practice — knowing that they always were told of when the next would be afterwards. jack didn’t exactly think of the other as the type to slack off or pay poor attention. if anything, he was one of the upperclassman who disappointed the least in that aspect.
fixing his composure for a moment, he still had to show some decency to someone who was older than him — scolding him for poor attention to detail was absolutely out of the question. ❝ yea, as soon as classes end for everyone for the day. ❞ giving nothing more & nothing less than what was asked of him. it was true that he would be reliable for this information; it was rare to catch him slacking off, even when it came to club activities. running was one of his personal hobbies, aside from just what they did to maintain a good form for their competitions. if he didn’t manage to get in a morning jog, the rest of his day would have been thrown off — it helped fend off exhaustion. ❝ are you already finished? ❞ he asks, voice lowering considerably when he find the means to be bold enough to continue their conversation.
