A PRAYER FOR TODAY 🙏🏼 Beloved Saint Joseph, through your prayers of intercession, grant me a spirit of sacrifice, of humility, of self-denial, a great love for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, and a tender loved for Mary, my Mother. Saint Joseph, be with me living, be with me dying, and obtain for me a favorable judgement from Jesus, my merciful Savior. Amen. • #CoffeeWJesus has become a Family Affair. God Our Father wants us to entrust ourselves to the living paternal care of St. Joseph in a manner similar to God’s entrustment of the human nature of Jesus to Joseph. St. Joseph is the shadow of the Heavenly Father! He was the image and reflection of the Father for Jesus. When we accepted Jesus as our Savior, we became part of his family. We became part of the Holy Family, Jesus, Mary, Joseph, God the Father and the Holy Spirit! • I don’t know how you feel about your family but in a time when the world is conflicted over marriage and family, it’s nice to know we have a spiritual one we can trust to guide us in all wisdom. • Fr. Calloway puts it so eloquently, “After Christ, St. Joseph is the model of heroic manhood and the defender of marriage, chastity, and life itself. Consecration to St. Joseph is the key to overcoming the anthropological confusion so prevalent in our times. This week, our elder brothers celebrate the Old Testament feast of tabernacles “Sukkot.” On the heals of the Sabbath of Sabbaths and the Day of Atonement, one of the most solemn weeks of the year, our Heavenly Father saw fit to institute a week of joyful celebration. At Sukkot, we are reminded that when we come out of our sins and look to God, we are beckoned into the arms of a joyful Father who tabernacles with us! Emmanuel - God dwells with us! • God leaves no space between the repentant heart and a joyful heart. • We do not have to wait for joy to enter our lives. It comes instantly and with a blessing! • When we allow God to wash away our sins and accept the sacrifice of Atonement that Jesus gave on the cross, we are ushered into the tent of God IMMEDIATELY. Like the prodigal son in the story, our Father is ready to throw the feast in our honor. • Let this be a reminder to us today, to do the same for our brothers and sisters. We do not need to wait for them to turn their lives around and prove themselves worthy of our joy and affections. We can love them IMMEDIATELY just as our Father loves us! • When we do this, we leave no room for the devil to intervene. We walk with our brother, arm and arm, to the place of meeting.
