I've been to therapy for about a year or two now, and I've managed to achieve some of my small goals to recovery for my anxiety and depression. But the one thing I still can not seem to do, is stop consuming media so endlessly. It's somthing I've been doing at a very young age as social media and the internet became a big thing back then. My brain has been on auto pilot for more than a decade and I just want to get it back.
Advice I have recieved:
It's best to stay off a screen for most of the week (a couple of hours for one or two days a week) and instead read, participate in hobbies, hang out with people, and make sure your life experiences are stretched to various things. This helps to challenge and improve yourself and can also teach you very important life lessons. This doesn't included long form content and online reading as those are also harmful to the brain.
