I always thought being a Shadowhunter meant that I had to approve of what the Clave did. I thought otherwise I wasn't loyal. I made excuses for them. I always have. Life becomes difficult when you can't tell the difference between ambition and luck, and some awful third thing that looked like a lab accident but might have been the plan all along. When you've got a built-in expiration date how do you know putting the auto-pistol in your mouth isn't just following the code? There is no free will in Heaven and there's not enough cigarettes on the ship to clear away the fog. And in the end it's all just business, isn't it? Just finished City of Heavenly Fire....I didn't love it??  Like, everyone is all excited that it ended "just the way" they wanted, but I felt like there was SO MUCH extraneous detail, unnecessary characters, and about 200 pages too many.  It was fine, I enjoyed it well enough, but I skipped over huge chunks and didn't miss anything.

Today is the last day that I can pretend everything will be fine and jolly and swell, and that no one is gonna die. Also that my ships will not sink, but tomorrow I must face the fact that they may die. :'(
