The way home finale was *so close* to being perfect. Curse you Hallmark for canceling it a season earlier than planned! That said, I still really enjoyed it!
Overall, for a hallmark show, this was a good one. Def worth a rewatch!
More thoughts about the finale under the cut!
I think that the finale suffered because of the lose ends that didn’t really get the time to be tied up properly like with Griffin and Tessa. Yes, we did get scenes *explaining* the note with Griffin and Tessa being alive but showing is always better than telling. I mean, what happened to Griffin after he left that note? And how long did Tessa live after surviving the explosion? I am also convinced Griffin is Sam but alas we’ll never know for certain
Also, why did Fern not pass on the story of ‘The One’ who would save the family to Colton??? Would have saved a lot of confusion in the long run? That to me seems like a big plot hole 😬
Also who is Nick’s fiancée and why did we never meet her?
I also would have liked to see more of Casey and *what* it was that was changing that kicked off them coming to the past in the first place. It was nice to see them at the end witnessing their parents wedding. I think it would have been nice too to see them interact with Colton or something when we had the Del & Colton reunion instead of peacing out. And as much as I liked the wedding I would have liked better a flash forward where we got to see Casey’s future…
I wish too we would have had a little more time to flesh out the reunion between Alice and Evie. Their friendship wasn’t as compelling to me as it could have been. I’m sure it was meant to be explored more over the course of the season if they’d had a season 5 like originally planned and I blame that on the show getting cancelled! Also the transition left me a little confused at first as to *how* and when their was happening but it was still very sweet.
