Here's how I make all the gold pieces in my shop. The process is called cold casting and it’s fairly easy! I just lightly coat the mold with whatever metallic powder, then pour the material. This process works with almost anything you can cast. Aside from spraying with clear coat (not shown) that’s pretty much it. Some metallic powders look better after some polishing with steel wool, like brass or aluminum. Hope this video helps! Request your own 3D prints & props by visiting my Etsy (link below)

Create a metal version of your 3D print! Ok... so perhaps some explanation. Cold casting is a manufacturing process where a metal is poured into a mould to create a metal part. In this case, as explained in the Paul Braddock’s video, this is how it works: 1. 3D print your object. 2. Create a silicon mould of your object. 3. Prepare your liquid metal (mix metal powder with a casting resin). 4. Pour your liquid metal into the mould. 5. Wait for it to cure (dry up) and you’re done! You have a metal version of your 3D project. Here is Paul’s website. It was down when I checked it but maybe it’s down for maintenance.
