ICE COLD THERAPY FOR KNEE PAIN
Contemporary lifestyle has drastically changed the way we live and the way it has affected our health and fitness. Health problems of the modern age need contemporary solutions. Knee pain is a very common problem affecting young and old alike. Among athletes, knee pain exudes from sports that involve running and twisting. Among older people, the cartilage that provides a cushion in our knees often just wears out, producing chronic stiffness and pain.
Knee injuries, however minor, can cause pain and discomfort that prevents you from engaging in your normal daily activities. Knowing when to use ice and when it is okay to use heat on a knee that is in pain or injured can make a big difference between easing the pain and encouraging your knee to start healing or preventing your knee from starting the healing process, potentially causing more pain. Indulge in a fit and healthy lifestyle with cold therapy knee ice wraps and knee pain cold packs.
When to Use Ice Wraps When your knee aches from hiking, gardening or even playing a game of backyard hoops but doesn’t warrant a visit to the doctor, then remember the acronym RICE, which stands for rest, ice, compression and elevation. Applying ice is one of the best things you can do to reduce inflammation and add to a healthy and pain free lifestyle. When the tissues around and in your knee are inflamed, it is not only painful but also makes it difficult to heal. Leave the ice pack on for 15 to 20 minutes and ice every few hours the first day and several times throughout the next few days. Bring alive the perfect pain free lifestyle with no pain and health problems.
When in Doubt If you are looking to help heal the injury that is causing your knee pain, then use ice whenever in doubt of what to put on it. Ice will not do any damage if you are unsure that your area of pain is ready for heat or not. Applying ice helps creating a spectacle of changes to pain treatment. But be careful never to leave an ice or heat pack on your knee or any other injury for too long. Twenty-minute sessions are reasonable.

Why Arctic Ease?
I get asked continually “why Arctic Ease?”, “why did we set up our facility in the Northeast?” (aka the greater Philadelphia area) and “why we did not offshore our manufacturing to China?”, well here’s why:
First and foremost, there had to be a better way to cool an injury than wet leaky ice bags that limit mobility or menthol based products that everyone within 20+ feet can smell coming their way – that somewhat relived pain but did nothing for inflammation (swelling).
The solution had to fit under a brace (a result of a knee injury); allow me to maintain my mobility – no more sitting around waiting while icing (the ADHD in me kicks in). The solution had to be reusable, eco-friendly, odorless (no one could tell I was using a product), most of all portable – I could have it with me all the time without the need to pre-cool the wrap or pad – its tough to travel for a living and find an ice machine and bag to put ice into – that process alone defeats the first two points!
These facts were coupled with a desire to set your own destiny, which meant taking the risk of losing it all and gambling on building a better solution.
Its not easy building a company from scratch, much less sourcing manufacturing equipment and suppliers – all had to be based in the USA and made with US labor – however we have done it with great success.
When asked what Arctic Ease stands for, it’s the following:
It’s doing business with honesty, loyalty and integrity
It’s taking a simple and straightforward approach
It’s providing a superior product
It’s holding ourselves to a higher standard
It’s investing in our people and business for success
It’s having fun and being proud of what we do
It’s proving that not everything has to come from China; yes we can manufacture products here in the USA in a cost effective manner.
It’s about creating jobs at Arctic Ease and creating jobs at our suppliers all here in the USA
We appreciate our friends and in 2011 we will demonstrate that. Over the next few weeks you will see several changes in our interactions with you, starting with changes in how we interact with our friends. I will be taking the reins of our Twitter account and doing all the postings myself.
We will be announcing a few “cool” programs, so check back and watch for the announcements.
If you have any thoughts, comments or suggestions, please share them, we are listening and will continue to do so, I’ll personally assure that we do. Feel free to email me directly at [email protected] or tweet me @arcticease
Have a great one,
