Learning an online friend's irl name is such a weird experience. On one hand, you feel like you've been given access to a closer bond that was previously inaccessible. On the other hand, you feel like you just learned their deadname and just go "I did not see it 🙈 I did not hear it 🙉 I will not speak it 🙊".
So I was cleaning off my desk to reorganize, and I found these!! And I had forgotten I hadn't mailed the postcards to anyone yet!! These are just so cute, ngl probably never going to be mailed out. I think I miss the feeling of being in love from a distance. I think I miss pining. I miss touches so rare you cherish every time your skins brush. I miss the skip of my heart when the person laughs or smiles. I miss existing in the same space as the person and thinking "I wish this never ends". I miss smiling at every text, at every word. I miss breathing easy in their company. I think I miss pining.
Literally the "part of the village" mindset of small towns is just an assurance that whatever social structures are ruling the society are being maintained and enforced without modification. Fuck the village. Let people change. Let society change. And let people have some goddamn personal privacy!
