20. Do you prefer writing AUs or canon fics?

AUs for stranger things, for sure. and i love modern AUs! i just do!! let these boys sext!!!!

22. Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process?  How do you come up with titles?

typically during. my first fic titles were pulled from song lyrics but i believe 'i turn your faucets, make it rain' was my last lyric-inspired title. now i just stare at the page until i think of one and go with that. trying to keep them shorter, unique, and memorable. i also check to make sure they haven't been used within the fandom yet.

Turns out I'm not capable of writing things under 800 words. Anyway, here is my first Morgal fic @colinmorgans thanks for the prompt!

“Bryne,” Daegal whispered, hand stretched out before him palm open and facing the unlit candle perched on the table.

Nothing.

“Again,” Mordred said firmly from beside him.

“Bryne!” Daegal shouted, screwing his eyes shut and overextending his arm dramatically to an almost painful degree. He heard a gasp from the Knight beside him and a smile stretched along his features. He’d done it! Finally! Excitement bubbled up inside him and he opened his eyes, expecting to see a bright flame flickering before his eyes. The smile that had so quickly formed on his face fell just as fast when he saw the candle hovering slightly above the table.

“It’s floating. That has to be a good sign,” Mordred smiled at him, patting him on the back.

“Oh, I meant to set it on fire not make it float,” Daegal whined letting his head fall into his hands in frustration.

So. Arthur’s cloak at the end of DOTD came out of nowhere, right? He wasn’t wearing a cloak when he was fighting in Camlann, so it couldn’t have been on the horses that ran off (and I’m pretty sure Merlin wouldn’t have gone to find the horses even if it was). So Merlin must have turned something into a cloak. It could be anything, but I hc that Merlin kept the piece of Arthur’s clothes that he ripped off to cover Merlin’s wounds in 2x12, and that’s what Merlin turns into the cloak.

(I don’t think Merlin ever mended that shirt. Sure, Arthur would have worn clothes with a few stitches to fix rips here and there, but he’s a prince. He wouldn’t go around wearing a shirt that has had a literal chunk of it taken out and fixed back. And even if Merlin did fix it, it wouldn’t have been with the part that was ripped off and had his blood all over it)

Why? Because according to a post @shut-up-merlin made, the way Arthur gives that cloth to Merlin is akin to a favour a lady would give a knight in a tourney, and one the meanings behind a favour is to ask that the knight survive the battle and give the cloth back to the lady. So in this hc, by giving Arthur the ‘favour’, Merlin is basically asking Arthur to come back to him.

the first character i ever fell in love with: I watched ATLA for the first time while it was originally airing and I was like...9 lol. So I don't really remember for sure. I think it might have been Katara? I remember thinking she was nice and pretty during the first episode. And I was an unaware baby gay lol

a character that i used to love/like, but now do not: None. If I started off loving a character I stayed loving them.

a ship that i used to love/like, but now do not: I think when I was a kid I liked Aang/Katara and Zuko/Mai simply because they were the canon ships. But nowadays my opinions on those relationships have obviously changed.

my ultimate favorite character™: Zuko king of character development. I love him sooo much.

prettiest character: Katara and Azula. Also Yue

my most hated character: Ozai

my OTP: Zutara trash forever and ever

my NOTP: Aang/Katara and Zuko/Mai....sorry peeps

favorite episode: There are a lot of episodes that I love but I think I have to say Zuko Alone. My emotions.

saddest death: Yue :( Jet was also pretty sad even though I have mixed opinions on his character

favorite season: Book 2. The Ba Sing Se storylines...*chef's kiss*

least favorite season: I love the entire show but if I had to choose...probably book 3. It had some great stuff but there were also things that frustrated me about it.

character that everyone else in the fandom loves, but i hate: None I don't think? There isn't very many ATLA characters I hate in general lol

my ‘you’re piece of trash, but you’re still a fave’ fave: Azula

my ‘beautiful cinnamon roll who deserves better than this’ fave: Every member of the Gaang. They are all my kids who went through too much :(

my ‘this ship is wrong, nasty, and makes me want to cleanse my soul, but i still love it’ ship: None

my ‘they’re kind of cute, and i lowkey ship them, but i’m not too invested’ ship: Sokka and Suki. But I actually am kind of invested lol. They just aren't my #1.
