Teasel Tuesday. Thank-you so much to Angie @novice-at-play for the Teasel photo… I added my hand as a double exposure. Turned out fine I think? Enjoy your day!

I couldn’t decide which version I preferred. When Angie @novice-at-play said we should do collaborative double exposures, I made a lot of them with her photos. I think one of these is my favorite I did with her. But, like I said I never could decide which.

My humble contribution to the double exposure prompt on @letstalkphotography. It also serves as my effort for the “#collab fun” @novice-at-play and I are continuing. I went for a silhouette of my own and layered her superb photo on top. A dichotomy between the city and nature. A back alley with wonderful lines and a lake with a gorgeous shoreline. I’ve worked with double exposure in the past, but never tried to join two opposing forces before. It’s definitely something I plan to attempt again in the future.

The final set of edits Angie @novice-at-play and I did brings us to another result. Who did which? The original is in the middle. It’s hard for me to even tell without going back to look by how we named them. Since I had already viewed her edit I tried going somewhere else with mine and still ended up finding my way back to a similar result. There’s no right or wrong way to edit a photo, we just both happened to have eerily similar visions of the result.

I want to take a minute to thank Angie for editing my photos in the first place and for saying, “Hey what if you edit them too?” I’ve enjoyed this experience so much I asked her if we could continue, and we will! On a monthly basis we will share with you edits of each other’s photos, and perhaps try a few things along the way.

We do hope you decide to join us. I firmly believe seeing different perspectives on your own photos may just open your eyes to potential we can all sometimes miss, and maybe we will learn some through the process. Don’t forget to tag them “#collab fun”!

I trusted Angie @novice-at-play with my all time favorite sunset/photo experience. To be there was to believe something greater than myself had created the majesty and beauty I saw that evening. I still look back at the unedited versions from that night in awe of them. Right place, right time.

The first one is my edit this time, the middle is the original, and the right is Angie’s. I think seeing the transition from original to edit is even more interesting laid out together. 

She said my edits of this in the past pushed her into a different direction, as I found myself pushed into a different direction with the previous set we shared with you by her vision of my photo. I know, at least, for my part this has pushed me to edit with a little different mindset and that’s never a bad thing.

@novice-at-play was kind enough to lend her superb editing skills to a few of my photos for me. This is the first of three photos I sent to her to edit. Which turned into, well how would I edit them? How different would our interpretations be? I believe taking the same photo and having two different points of view on them is nothing less than fascinating. Her take is on the left and mine on the right.

Who would you choose to do this with? What might the differences be?
