Robert Brasillach was one of the few collaborationists executed after WWII, as de Gaulle refused to pardon him.
His "intellectual crimes," as the prosecution alleged, included writing the best book on the siege of the Alcazar.

#BurnAFlag Day84 Mother Of All Diversions. Whew! Big Bomb! The biggest, most tremendous bomb. In Trump’s second headline-grabbing display of military might this week, the Mother of all Bombs was dropped in Afghanistan and, according to Trump, it was another successful military action. Of course it was. We may not know the real story for a while since it happened in a remote mountainous region, but we do know the area is home to about 95,000 people and we know the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast, as its name suggests, is definitely not designed for precision bombing or for avoiding civilian casualties. However, it was dropped precisely in time to make headlines and push other stories further down the page. So, what stories won’t get much attention in Prime Time? Well, let’s see…..Today the Pentagon admitted to the accidental bombing of our allies in Syria, killing at least 18 in the worst “friendly fire” incident of the Syrian conflict. So far, they are quiet about the number of civilians killed…..And today, Trump signed an order allowing states to withhold federal funds from Planned Parenthood. I guess he’s not too concerned about the “babies, beautiful little babies” here in “The Homeland,” whose health is of great concern to Planned Parenthood, if not to Trump supporters.…..And today, Trump floated his new plan to sabotage Obamacare by withholding subsidies to insurance companies hoping to force them to withdraw from the program……And today, The Guardian reported “British spies were first to spot Trump team's links with Russia” as early as 2015. Others, including the German, Estonian, Polish, Australian, Dutch, and French intelligence agencies also documented Trump-Russia interactions through 2016……And, though they are not at the top of the page today, let’s not forget the investigations of Trump’s advisors, the Russian Agents, Carter Page and Paul Manafort….. And in the entertainment section of the news, there is soap opera being played out in the White House, starring Trump’s former Chief Strategist, Steve Bannon. _ #RESIST #IMPEACH #Patriot #EPA #Environment #CivilRights #USA #Flag #TrumpLies #TrumpFail #TrumpRussia #corrupt @GOP #collaborationists @ (at United States)
#BurnAFlag Day60 We now have confirmation from the chiefs of the U.S. Intelligence Agencies that our president is a puerile propagandist; a self-destructive, conspiracy theorist; a dim-witted liar. But we already knew that. In more important news, FBI director Comey confirmed his investigation into Trump's associates (and presumably Trump himself) and their collusion with Russian operatives to influence our election process. Let's hope their inquiry is not derailed by Trump's usual interference strategy of misdirection and disinformation. #Resist #TrumpRussia #TrumpLies @GOP #Collaborationists @realdonaldtrump (at United States)
#BurnAFlag Day59 It's going to be a long week in Trumplandia. While the House Intelligence Committee hearings have the potential to provide long sought answers about Trump-Russia connections and their meddling in our elections, it is unlikely we will hear of any revelations. It seems Committee Chair Nunes has already decided there is no evidence of collusion between Trump administration officials and the Russians, even before hearing testimony from the intel chiefs. The focus instead is to be shifted to determining who leaked information to the media, because apparently it is not as important to know who committed the crimes, but rather who had the audacity to expose the crimes. Meanwhile, it is becoming increasingly obvious that Trump has much to hide. Questions about his lunatic rants accusing Obama and the Brits of spying on him will muddle the investigation, which is precisely his goal. Throwing a bone to the doggedly persistent democrats, Nunes has admitted, though without accusing Trump of lying, that there is no evidence for his wiretap claims. Smoke and mirrors. Distractions and deceit. #TrumpLies @GOP #Collaborationists #RESIST #TrumpRussia (at United States)
Day50 50 flags burned. It is getting hard to follow the many injustices, improprieties, illegitimacies, and illegalities of this presidency. Truth is a thing of the past. Human rights are replaced by corporate rights. Clean air -gone, clean water -gone, facts -gone, science -gone. Are we really willing to be governed by this ignorant, inconsiderate, imbecile? I think not! #TheResistance #BurnAFlag @potus #TrumpLies @WhiteHouse @GOP #Collaborationists (at United States)
Day36 They may ban the media from their press conferences; they may manipulate the FBI behind closed doors; they may secretly burn Native American encampments and raid hard-working immigrant communities, but we will rise up against them and #TheRevolutionWillBeTelevised #RESIST #RadicalChristianTerrorists #BurnAFlag @realdonaldTrump @GOP #Collaborationists (at United States)
You Don’t Know the Power... of the Collaborationists
“Interactivity refers to the ways that new technologies have been designed to be more responsive to consumer feedback…” The article included examples of how television channels can be changed, and we act in ways that we are able to when presented in some distinct world within a video game. “Participation, on the other hand, is shaped by the cultural and social protocols.” It “is more open-ended, less under the control of media producers and more under the control of media consumers.”
“Allowing consumers to interact with media under controlled circumstances is one thing; allowing them to participate in the production and distribution of cultural goods—on their own terms—is something else altogether.”
This is the initial reaction I had as soon as I read Star Wars. It’s not something I had thought too much about, if at all—how the boundaries seem so subtle, though, naturally, the division is there. Between being accustomed to the consumer life, rather than being involved, attempting to be, taking action to participate and so forth… and producing a film, a program, a novel, that appeals to a wide array of emotions for a grand audience. My jaw pretty much dropped after reading about these Star Wars submissions, the fan fiction, and essentially how George Lucas was greatly impressed by the man who had shared his Storm Trooper policing Tatooine story—later becoming a comic book writer. How cool is that? I’m practically drooling at the endless possibilities for Star Wars.
Anyway, it’s intriguing how they regulate—over-participation almost—with prohibitionists when the consumer power gets out of control or has the potential to. The Collaborationists are present as well; the go-to fans that can be essential to production, therefore in order for there to be more promotions for the specific franchise, there must be a moderate flow of collaboration.
