GLXTCH is the name of my zine series. I make little square booklets of prose poems and collage and photos scrapped together. In this one, "Exist & Arrive" there's a lot of mini passages about the dark complexity of my relationship with men, with some taking on new tones in light of recent events. This zine project was supposed to be a monthly thing but maybe it's better not to tie it down to a schedule, who knows. I'm selling copies of both issue one and two this Friday at The Lit Exhibit. I am something feral that cannot be wised. • I know better than to talk to the Internet about politics. I’m not a scholar. I’m an inspiration page. I want you to come here and feel safe. I want this to be art discourse that transcends politics. • I am also a sensitive aesthetic. I write about what affects me. My strategy so far has been to wear myself on my sleeve so you trust me. So when you get here, you easily exhale into your creative flow. • These two things are always pulling at me. I want you to know that if we disagree, you’re still safe here. I’m not here to judge anyone. I believe that if we come here and encounter something soft, we will give back soft to the world. We are practicing soft here. • I don’t have a well educated opinion, I am just affected by what’s happening to Palestine. So I’m writing about it. • 33 children died in a day last week. 2 of them were Israeli and 31 of them were Palestinian. I dunno much about politics, but I can’t unhear that line. Does it sound.. disproportionate to anyone else? • The rest of this poem is in my story. It’s long form and I don’t really do those. I think it’s a bad poem probably.
