Fun fact: The collared kingfisher’s bright blue coloring doesn't come from any chemical pigment. Rather, the feathers themselves have a physical structure that only reflects only blue wavelengths! That's also why the kingfisher's wings may appear to change from blue to green as it moves and flies.
