1. If you could learn any language (living or dead), what would it be? I'd go with a living language, so I could actually use it. As for what... Hmm. Practically, I should probably say Spanish, especially considering I live in a Hispanic neighborhood, but if I wanted to do something fun I'd probably have to say Japanese or Russian. Because, y'know, reasons.
2. Talk about a piece of media (book, tv show, movie, whatever) that legitimately changed/shaped your life.
This isn't a question! Still... I suppose I'll say The Lord of the Rings (both the books and films). I saw The Two Towers in theaters with my friends after seeing only about an hour of The Fellowship of the Ring. I was, of course, confused, but I rented FotR, watched it over and over, and slowly learned the characters names and faces. I jumped into the books... And, again, I was lost. They were so different than the films! Still, I appreciated a lot about them, even if I didn't know exactly what Tom Bombadil had to do with anything or where the elves were during the Battle of Helms Deep. I've since re-read the books and fallen in love with them, and the films are my favorites. They're my first real introduction into a fandom - and Orlando Bloom was my first celebrity crush, which meant a lot to a fifteen-year-old girl who didn't know why she wasn't crushing over boys like her classmates.
3. What do you wish you were brave enough to do?
Ask this really cute boy on the train out on a date. Oh, and move to New Zealand. Actually, scratch that first one - New Zealand > boys.
4. If you were turned into an animal, what would you be?
I'm assuming this means I get a choice, and it's not someone playing a trick on me or something of the like. Let me think... I've been compared to a horse, a platypus, a squid, and a unicorn, but if I really had my choice, I think I'd have to go with a bird of some sort - a chickadee, or maybe a hawk.
5. What are you afraid of?
SPIDERS. EW.
6. Are you irrationally upset when someone asks you the answer to a question before they’ve thought to Google it?
No - I know that not everyone has the internet on their phone (see: me), and I'm definitely guilty of this myself.
7. Are you irrationally upset when people turn nouns into verbs (as in “googling” a thing, or “facebooking” someone, etc.)?
Again, no - language is an ever-changing system and always has been, and I don't expect it to remain static. That said, some new words do bother me, and while I understand some people don't always use a word correctly, if they are corrected I do hope they try to stop using it wrong.
8. What do you secretly believe about yourself? Are you afraid of other people finding out?
Well, if it's a secret, why would I post it here? I can't really think of anything... Maybe that I'm a sexier beast than even I know?
9. Do you like hugs? Describe your perfect hug (or other comforting gesture, if you don’t like hugs).
Hugs are an interesting gesture. I don't mind them when they've given to/received from someone I don't mind, but sometimes my friend groups overlap; I've been in a position where one person thinks we're friends and should hug, but I either don't know this person very well or don't like them well enough to want to be enveloped in their arms. In such cases, I dislike them very much, because usually this is either in greeting or saying goodbye, and I've already hugged others, so I can't say that I don't like hugging. I guess... Again, I like them and I don't, depending on the person/situation. A perfect hug is warm, tight, and with a person whose company I truly enjoy.
10. When you’re only wearing one earbud, which side do you use?
Usually the left, I think.
11. What food do you resort to making when you don’t have any energy, or when there isn’t very much food left in your pantry but you can’t/don’t want to go grocery shopping?
This is usually some kind of noodle dish - I always have a few boxes of macaroni and cheese or noodle "side dishes" which I'll make into dinner. Don't tell my mom that I often skip my veggies!

1. Biggest Acomplishment of 2013?
I made my big break into the publishing world by getting an internship, which lead to my current job, in a publishing distribution house. It's not what I want to do with the rest of my life, but it's a foot in the door. 2. Do you have any hobbies? What are they?
Lots! I crochet and cross stitch, I'm a video gamer, and I love reading and watching movies. I'm an avid Tumblr now (does that count as a hobby?), and I like cooking and baking.
3. If you could have any job in the world, what job would you have?
Hmm... While I'm trying to get myself into the publishing scene to be an editor, I'd much rather be a novelist - one who actually makes a decent living off of their creative writing. That, or something involving travel writing, so I could both write and see the world.
4. Favorite cartoon from your childhood.
I remember avidly watching the TV show Captain Planet and the Planeteers, but I'm not sure if that was my favorite. I know for a while I loved Pokemon, but we didn't get to watch it much because it started right before we had to leave for church on Sundays. I also loved the film Pocahontas with all my heart.
5. Do you have any pets? Tell me about them!
I do! I have a dog named Cherokee. She's a 9-year-old Mountain Feist (think Jack Russel Terrier mixed with Rat Terrier) who is, sadly, starting to show her age. She's mostly white with black ears and two black spots - one on her back and one right between her ears. She used to have brown marks on her face, but they've faded away with age. She can jump like a deer and loves chasing squirrels and rabbits, but she hates other dogs and cats. She's definitely a one-family dog - while there are some people she likes, like one of my aunts and my grandpa, she doesn't like most people and has snapped at people who invaded her personal space before. Luckily she's never drawn blood, but we've gotten used to keeping her away from other people. It's better for everyone. Despite this, she really is a sweet girl who loves getting her neck scratched and who loves getting biscuits.
6. If your plane crashed on a desert island, who would you want there with you?
I think I'd want a group of practical people - probably my best friend and her husband, and a few other of the couples from our friend group. They may mostly be gamers, but I think they'd be good to have with me. I'm not sure how many I can have, so I'll just add on Matthew Gray Gubler and Ben Wishaw - or whichever one would be most willing to make our desert island stay a little more bearable. ;)
7. Spirited Away or Howls Moving Castle?
Howl's Moving Castle - especially the book, though I do love the film.
8. What is the oldest thing you own?
Um... This is a tough one, actually. I guess it would have to be the family's civil war gun. Technically it's both mine and my mom's, but I think I sort of inherited it when my father passed.
9. What do you wear when you’re sleeping?
A pair of short cotton shorts and an XXL t-shirt.
10. What was your last dream about?
I actually keep a dream blog; here's my last entry: http://nymori.wordpress.com/2013/12/29/122913/
11. Favorite video game of all time?
Final Fantasy IX all the way.
And, of course, my questions: 1. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? Why there?
2. Who are your three favorite actors?
3. What animal would you like to have for a pet, if your safety were guaranteed and laws did not apply?
4. What is your favorite type of plant?
5. What is your biggest fandom? What attracted you to it in the first place?
6. What's your earliest memory?
7. What's your favorite Disney song? Why that one?
8. What makes you fabulous? (Remember, you're definitely fabulous, so no getting out of this one by saying that you're not!)
9. What kind of junk food could you eat as a snack forever if calories, cost, and unhealthiness didn't affect you?
10. If you could only wear one color for the rest of your life, what color would it be?
11. What's your favorite fairy tale? Do you like the original version, or the modern (think: Disney) version?
