The Herding Mage..
"The Rough Collie is a long-coated dog breed of medium to large size that was bred for herding sheep in Scotland. The rough collie's long coat has made the breed popular on northern Midwest farms as a herder and guardian of the farm during the winter. They love playing in the snow with children and guard the farm while the owner is away."

Cassie the Collie | Ty Beanie Babies, did not buy
She’s so cute, one of my top ten Beanie Babies. I had to pick her up and say hello. This one’s fur is a bit clumped, so you know she has been played with.
Ok random but if you happen to be a person who has had Smooth/Rough Collie dogs I want you to tell me why they are The Best (or the worst?)
I’m a few years out from getting a dog but I am researching breed and they’ve really caught my eye (and the hyperfocus). I’ve only ever had Dalmatians, but I’m interested in a breed that is a touch less chaotic while still being smart and athletic, and hopefully has a bit less of a prey drive (I have cats now- almost any dal I have met would not be safe to live with cats)
I LOVE my spots but I think having one with my lifestyle is a bit unrealistic at this phase of life. They are very high energy, and very independent minded. I’m looking for a breed that is a bit more level headed and biddable, but still game to go on a hike with me or join me with the horses. Smooths are more appealing to me because I don’t want the higher grooming requirements and long hair everywhere. (Plus I love the look!)
This majestic creature is my dog, also known as Bobby. I like to hold a treat in up for him and he essentially jumps into my lap and hilarity ensues. He is very snuggly.
