What are some tips on keeping characters consistent over multiple different writers and perspectives? This is in the context of a story that's being written by four different people from four different perspectives.
You’ll need at the very least a character/setting/world bible, and a way for everyone to access it. You might also need rules for whether changes can be made, etc…
I’d suggest Google Docs or a wiki or Dropbox or other document-sharing app. In other words, technology will be your friend here.
I’ve done this in the past with a much larger group of people spread over the world. This was in the days of Geocities, and those email lists that predated Yahoo! Groups (onegroup, egroups … back in the day when you got excited getting an email!) and so we had dedicated email lists and an oft-updated website. I’m getting misty with nostalgia; this was the place where I first realized I might actually be able to write fiction. My novel I worked on for NaNoWriMo 2014 was built from what I wrote in this group.
Good luck, I hope you all find something that works for you. I’m very excited to hear people doing this!
