I just want you to know I’m writing an essay about CM because I’m so passionate and intrigued by the characters, the world, and the different realities that exist within it! I might ask some questions later but I want to make sure I’ve read all of the other ones first. However! One that I’m surprised I haven’t seen is this: one of the pillars to my thesis is about the importance of color. Is it significant that the Congress are coded red, which corresponds with the eye colors of Mary, Crowven, and Ovidious, but the Parliament are yellow coded, which is mildly close to Twyla’s orange color scheme but exactly Reginald’s scheme? It seems very purposeful but I’m not sure if I’m grasping at straws.
Thank you!!!
I'm happy you've noticed some of the color stuff, as I love doing color stuff!! ♡
I would say you are a liiiiiittle off, though! While the Congress is coded Red and Black, I would say that Twyla and the Parliament are coded more Orange and Brown.
In places where Twyla is present (metaphorically or otherwise) I try to inject a lot of orange into the scene.
True End Spoilers below? (even though the post itself is kinda spoilery already!)
Recently I watched the movie Nope, and I loved it so much! It’s probably one of my new favorites, and if I had to pick a favorite character it would have to be Jupe! I’ve been dealing with some art block, but then I remembered something about using a screencap of a scene in a movie to create a color study! So that’s what I did, with one of my favorite scenes in Nope. The eyes were definitely a struggle, but I’m happy with what I managed to create. The suit is definitely my favorite part of this piece-
Here’s the scene in the movie for comparison:
Can we also just agree Steven Yeun kills it in this cowboy getup?? Like hello-
coloring studies that i made earlier this month
Okay I'm sure someone thought of this but what if the colors on the couple posters are for the wristbands at the bar?
So
Red = Taken = TopMew
Yellow = ?? = BostonNick
Green = Free = RaySand
Admittedly the yellow is a bit dicey since I didn't hear anything about that - I heard Green, Red, and White.
Thoughts?
