Symmetry Move Brush for CLIP STUDIO PAINT
I've just released this free "Symmetry Move Brush" tool on Clip Studio Assets.
Check the link for more info on what it does and what it's for: https://assets.clip-studio.com/en-us/detail?id=1974271
a clip studio rendering tutorial, because someone asked.
disclaimer: this is not an “art hack.” the full process is extremely time consuming and requires some fundamental knowledge of how light and shadow interact. i’m also not a professional.
hi this is my quick tip for when you really really WANT to like clip studio's built in 3D model functionality but every time you try to make use of the finicky rotation controls you spend half an hour pissing yourself off
sure, load the object model in, but just trace the flat/head-on shapes of it (you can add a kind of "boundary box" around irregular objects too to help you align to an existing perspective grid if you want)
get rid of the model and just put the damn thing into perspective yourself using free transform (ctrl+drag handles to skew)
and obviously then you just adjust your sketch as needed and draw the rest of it yourself and proceed with your day. this is definitely not perfect (if there are specific things about an item that can't be seen from a front-on view, for example) and you'll need a basic understanding of how to eyeball things in perspective to begin with to make it work, but for me this lets me take advantage of a lot of the helpful things abt using 3D models without spending half an hour pissing myself off
Clothing Practice!
Earlier this year, I read a couple of guides by Luckyqilin and Oolenetea on Clip Studio. They covered designing clothing for characters, and drawing clothing. I took lots of notes and a few paper sketches of fold types, and I recently got around to doing the digital practice! Pipe folds and diaper folds are my favourites to draw, I always find those fun :)
Selecting by Value in CSP Part 2!

This is a short follow-up to my previous tip about selecting by value (brightness) using special bla...
