i picked up the physical version of house of leaves and while i still like the fact that the word house is in blue, the blue used in the shitty pdf download i had had it in a color that was just barely distinguishable from the rest of the text. it hit that perfect spot where the word house just popped out to where if you glanced at a page you could tell something was weird but you couldnt tell what. it took me a few instances of the word to even tell it was different. and i do miss that

#but ive heard that other words also get weird #color wise #and that early version (which i assume my download was) only colors one of the words #id rather have several colored words than a very eerie and uncomfortable single one
