Over 3 minutes of Patrick Stewart’s bloopers from Star Trek: The Next Generation:
Compiled from several sources I can’t remember any of them I found this at the bottom of my editing folder.
“what radicalized you” bro EMPATHY
"what radicalized you" well in kindergarten they told me to share things and be nice to people.
emperor kuzco was clearly gay
hes 19, with unlimited power, and he ain’t got a gf. the only time we see him interact with any women his own age is when he’s rejecting like 7 of them rapid fire. he pretends to date pacha in a gag that lasts like 10 solid minutes. listen to me god damnit
Okay, but just in case anyone is coming to tumblr dot com for my hot takes on 20+ year old kids' movies: Kuzco super WAS gay (or at least coded as such) and of course, I didn't get it until I watched it as a gay grownup.
He is played obviously camp and dramatic, for a start, and there is the aforementioned "hate your hair/not likely/yikes yikes yikes/let me guess you have a great personality" summary dismissal of all his potential brides. Then he spends dinner asking Yzma about Kronk ("so he seems nice? He's what, in his late twenties?") and otherwise being slightly obsessed with him.
Then there is the whole Adventure of Doom with Pacha, him being ever huffy about the Kiss of Life, and then the restaurant gag where Kuzco takes to playing Pacha's fake wife and dressing up in ladies' clothing with great gusto (reinforced by the waitress' "bless you for coming out in public" remark when Pacha says they're on their honeymoon). Then when he is finally de-llamafied, we don't see him paired off with the obligatory girl from the lineup earlier, as might otherwise be expected in a Disney movie. Instead he is still single, but goes to found family it up with Pacha, Chica, Kronk, etc, which dare we remark is a very queer trope.
In short, I have no idea how a Disney movie with no white people (all the characters are Indigenous/people of color), a gay king, cross-dressing jokes, and the most offbeat plot of all time actually ever got made (can you imagine the Family Friendly Mouse doing that today? Let us also talk about Kronk because he is a brilliant deconstruction of both toxic masculinity and the musclebound henchman stereotype.) Other than that this was the Chaos Hour of animated movies in the late 90s/early 2000s, and yes.
So yes. There you have it. I will not be taking criticism at this time.
In response to the question “How did a movie like this get made at all much less by fucking Disney?” there was a recent Vulture article that outlines the whole shit show of a history behind this film according to everyone (writers, directors, VAs, Stings) involved. The gist of the story is that they fucked up making a whole, true-to-form Disney musical that never came to see the light of day SO BADLY that Disney switched directors, locked the writer’s room, and didn’t review a single script until weeks after the film was in theaters.
Please, read this article if you have some time. This story is wild, and involves directors being pitted against each other Bake-Off style and a shockingly intimate documentary created by the wife of Sting who, himself was heartbroken by the decimation of the songs he wrote for the film including cutting a fantastic Yzma villain song sung by Eartha Kitt that is SO DAMN GOOD but would not ever have fit the more nailed-down Yzma we would eventually come to know and love. It’s so catchy though, I’m doubling up on calls to action but please listen now:
holy shit read the article. it’s worth it and completely batshit
This is fucking insane
I've never adequately appreciated the batshit brilliance of this joke, I've taken it for granted

I fucking LOVE when Scotty stands up for Spock whenever a crew member is being too hard on him, specifically watched 1x16 where Spock's logical command has been questioned by everyone (except Scotty who's been silently working on repairing their vessel) and one argues with Spock in context of the crewman wanting to bury his friend but Spock says they have to leave the body behind and the crewman calls Spock a machine and Scotty stands up all angry and says "that's enough!" LOOOVE
>:(
There's a reason Spock and Scotty are both my favorite characters and this is a big part of it! He's so loyal, to his friends, the ship, his beliefs, and is sooo so sweet. I like to say that Spock is my uncomfort character (make me feel REALLY seen and reflected. Like, too seen) and Scotty is my comfort character.
He's so under used in the fandom it makes me really sad, he's got a lot of interesting shipping potential too but there's not much out there. I really love adding him to mcspirk as well as in individual pairings. I want more love for him so bad

“don’t take it personally” how would you like me to take it then? professionally? romantically? academically?
I really thought that Aziraphale and Crowley were going to rewrite the Book of Life.
I really thought they were going to become the Illustrator and Author.
I really thought that's why all the books in the shop were made blank.
I really thought God wasn't going to actually exist in a true form, and instead be a kind of omnipresent power of creation.
I really thought that they were going to have their forced-proximity-making-up-with-each-other as they were required to work together to write the new Book of Life.
I really thought that they were going to choose *their* humanity and not a new one.
I really thought they would still be themselves at the end.
I really thought the moral of the story was that the humanity they had was worth protecting, and that life itself (whether mortal or otherwise) was beautiful and inherently important.
I really thought this story was about a love that transcends.
I understand the path they took. However. I do think it missed the mark on what the show was really trying to say.
whats the point of anything anymore. no readcomiconline. shut the entire internet down.
i don't mean to be That person but the recent dedicated poisoning of every archival space imaginable is extremely scary. news outlets blocking off the wayback machine?? the z-lib takedown that had happened? now this....
admittedly we don't know if readcomiconline is definitively down but their discord server is gone too. this doent look good.
My thing about the finale mainly is the fact that those guys at the end? Those are NOT Aziraphale and Crowley. Sure, they may have their faces and some aspects of their names, but that is NOT THEM. The story and God Herself made it VERY clear that by creating a new universe they would not only die but be erased from existence, never to have existed at all. It is not reincarnation, its not "in every universe" if those characters never existed. If those people that were the originals, our Aziraphale and Crowley, never existed in the first place.
I think another thing about the Finale (and good Omens 2), is that the character Arcs and DevelopmentsTM are never happened by the main characters, namely Aziraphale. My friend made the point that Michael became the villain because she felt numb to everything because she'd been doing it without recognition and without love for over 6000 years. Which is undoubtedly what Aziraphale feels about Heaven as well, but that is never addressed and neither are any of the other feelings he has about Heaven. GO2 is the same way with Gabriel and Beelzebub going off together. That was supposed to be Aziracrow's development, but they never got it. Michael's mental health (or lackthereof) being recognized could have and should have been Aziraphale's arc as Heaven's BurdenTM and then their Boss with suddenly more expectations and still nobody telling him he's doing anything good (ever at all). The absolute whiplash Aziraphale must have felt because of all that must have been insane. But it was never addressed and never will be.
i think this is worse than superhell guys
i just hate ending a story by making the whole story to never have existed
So are we all in agreement? This show ended after S1. S2 and S3 do not exist.
