1/201 - The Shawshank Redemption

Day 1 of the 201 challenge I embark on today. I seek to potentially document a short blurb with my thoughts each time I manage to watch one.

The Shawshank Redemption is a movie I had heard about before, and had watched video essays on, but never seen myself. Naturally expected a lot of the harsher aspects of prison that the movie starts with, but what I didn't expect is just how deeply and with nuance it would touch upon the many issues of prison life, both at an institutional and personal level. But most of all It is also a movie with a lot of heart.

9/10, I would be interested in studying this movie, its production, and its history further.

I really want to transition and im really tired of not even being able to wear a binder because how hard they are on my back

I know on my own i cant even be near affording it, recently ive been considering coming out to my parents over the summer break, it would have to be as male rather than nb because i fucking doubt they’d understand that, much less be supportive about it

Im the living pride of the family for my artistic talent so its not like they can disown me, but i don’t really know how they’d react to it otherwise.
