The "Skipper" is done!

Yes, I still need to weave in the ends, but. The knitting part is done, with a week to spare, and I'm really pleased.

I'm beginning to see the end of this project. I chose to knit the collar out of order, to make it easier shifting it around, meaning all that's left to knit is a sleeve. (And then, of course, the dreaded end-weaving.) My hope is to finish it by Monday and I'm feeling optimistic about that.

I absolutely love knitting top down in the round. First, there's no row upon row of only purling. Second, there's no grafting. Sleeves? Just leave the stitches resting on a cable until the body's done and then pick up where you left. No seems, no hassle. Looks good too.

I really like the palmside pattern of this mitt, definitely keeping it as a backup to swap with in other projects.

Mittens are done! Do I need to explain what the person who they are for does on their spare time?

I'm not liking the way the cuff curls, so next time I knit this pattern I'm going to make some changes to avoid that. Otherwise it was a pleasant knit and I think it'll make a good gift.
