   Midler raised an eyebrow, looking the man up and down. He all too well matched the description of an assassin she had heard of. Midler preferred to keep tabs on other stand using assassins around the world, it let her know her potental enemy’s weaknesses and strengths.

As explained by the palm reader in Chapter 542, Diavolo has a very interesting set of hands. They reveal his dual personality due to the lines on his palms, and they are apparently so beautiful that the palm reader began drooling over them when he saw them. I interpret these facts as such: Diavolo’s palms have smooth skin, unmarked aside from the unusual lines on his palms. However, while the skin may look soft to the touch, it is actually rather tough, like leather hide.

Diavolo’s fingers are long and bony, his fingernails kept short by his teeth due to his constant fear. His fingers are never at rest, always ready to claw and maim, the side of his hand ready to smash bone and sinew. His hands are simultaneously those of a killer and those of a bystander; soaked in gallons of blood, yet at the same time, untouched and pure. At least when he wraps them around your throat you wont chafe from callouses.
