Colton, you fool, you let the shaded lids work once, now Yes Man knows it's a negotiating weak-spot.

feels good to have Wildflower back in its colorful springtime prime 💫💐
(please ignore my previous ask lmao) helloo rook!! ive a couple of questions if thats ok!! :-))
for one, which of the pfm cast do you think youd get along best with? and what would their reactions be if they learned you were their creator?
alsoo i utterly adore your writing style. i was wondering, howd it become what it is now? what did you do to improve it and what tips/advice would you give to a beginner?
and finally, i love colton. tell alan to give this hot gal a raise. have you any sketches or such of her? if not then id love to get any random tidbits about her/about ian ^^
Sorry for the late reply! (Do you mean the prev ask about the pickup lines? If you mean anything else then I am afraid the ask was eaten, but let me know if you want the one I got answered or nah). Ofc it's ok, go ahead!
I like to think I would get along well with Jewel and Laurent because they are pretty straightforward, and Nino and Alan because they are sarcastic assholes and I usually click well with my kind hahaha
What would they feel if they learned I am their creator and that they are characters in a story, well most of them wouldn't believe it to begin with and/or wouldn't care, like Nino and Alan would just tell me to contact a specialist lol for example. Flavio might believe it because he generally believes stuff like that, and since he's not a person who'd beat me or anyone up, he'd probably just avoid me after asking 'why'?
Ahhhh thank you!!!! Tips for improving imo it really is just reading more and writing more in your target language. For me, when I started PFM, my vocabulary was limited and my grammar was abysmal, but the more you do anything the better you get at it, just like with any skill. For improving grammar and learning new words I mostly used mobile apps which are great coz you can use them wherever whenever, but also various official English vocab lists like CERF etc. For creative writing, I LOVE filling prompts and I found out that for character creation writing from their POV is really helpful, but other than that yeah like I said, just write and read a lot ig? Sorry if that's not actually helpful though
Hehe glad to hear it, I like Colton too, I can't wait to finallllly write her. Sadly I don’t have any sketches because I lost a lot of files when I was moving my stuff from win 10 to 11 recently (booo), but I can totally do trivia for both her and Ian. Let’s go:
Colton:
- She used to be a party girl and liked to travel a lot, she was the ‘family disappointment’ and the opposite of her parents/brother who were rather studious.
- She surprised herself the most when she decided to take care of her niece after her brother and his wife were murdered. Finding the culprit/taking revenge was a given, but she didn’t expect to get attached to the child as deeply and as quickly as she did
- She actually knew Alan, or rather knew of him, as he and her brother attended the same university. She was closer to Alan’s sister, on speaking terms, and because of her she decided to approach Alan with her ‘murder problem’
Ian:
- He’s very friendly, easygoing, and forgiving which is why he still tires to reconnect with Reed whom he thought of as his best friend back in the academy.
- He’s very academically inclined and talented, but very insecure, especially since people tend to say he only landed his gig as a journalist because of his affliction
- He started running errands for Alan as a favor after he contacted Alan to ask for info about one of the cases he was working on. Now they have a quid pro quo business relationship but since Ian is a bit of a pushover, he’s getting taken advantage of quite often
While working at Unimark International in the late 1960s, Lella and Massimo Vignelli designed a number of product packaging for Colton, a subsidiary of Gillette. Take a look at Nuts & Bolts, a line of toiletries aimed at a masculine audience. With a nod to pop art, large scale bright orange plastic nuts and bolts are part packaging and part object.
In the archives, the Vignellis saved an example of a combo pack in its original box which includes after shave lotion, deodorant, and after shave conditioner. This set also has an accordion folded brochure describing all the products.
Scroll through to read the brochure for yourself and its creatively descriptive language!
“A bold new twist in men’s products to prepare you for anything. (After all you never know what you might fall into.)
Nuts & Bolts cologne
A vigorous cologne in a man-sized orange bolt. Twist off the cap and turn on the power. A long-lasting, woodsy fragrance that’s a real confidence builder.
Nuts & Bolts after shave lotion
This bolt makes your shave a lusty one. The same zesty fragrance as the cologne invigorates your skin when it needs bracing up. Make it big with a splash of boldness from this brisk new aftershave. 4-ounces.
Nuts & Bolts after shave conditioner
If your skin reacts to the sting of alcohol after you shave, try working with this bolt. No alcohol bite. A greaseless, non-sticky cream that helps relieve dry and chapped skin conditions. 4-ounces.
Nuts & Bolts deodorant stick
A manly deodorant stick with strong arm ingredients to fight off strong arm bacteria. A bolt that really works as a deodorant. Non-alcoholic, it doesn’t sting or bite. Potent to help give long lasting protection. 3.4-ounces.
Nuts & bolts soap set
Two nut-shaped soaps, each with the same rousing scent. Soap up with either bar. Each contains special ingredients to help prevent bacteria odor.”
From our Unimark International records, we have tons of vintage imagery of the product and a two-sided ad / order form which describes the then new line:
“A New Twist in Men’s grooming
It’s about time someone came up with a line of grooming products for the rugged individualist.
Now there’s “NUTS AND BOLTS”. Five new super-virile products which come in man-sized orange nuts and bolts containers. There’s just about every grooming aid a man needs to make him feel like a man. A vigorous Cologne…a zesty After Shave…a biteless After Shave Conditioner…a strong-arm Deodorant Stick…and a couple of rousing nut shaped soaps that help prevent bacteria odor.”
