Seen the Light
He felt warm, emotionally warm as he passed through the between of sleep and waking. Matthew rolled over, eyes slowly opening as he tried to recall his dream. It was no use though, it had gone hand in hand with the night, walking towards that glowing sunrise, which had filled his room.
Eyes shot open as he's caught a glimpse of the clock: 3:47 am! The supposed sunrise had yet to happen, but it was still very bright. Had someone broke into his room? Was that allowed?
He climbed out of bed to flip the switch back to “off” position, but as he reached out he noticed two things. The first was that the switch was already off, so clearly the light came from elsewhere. The second thing he noticed almost simultaneously as the switch was that the light came from himself.
He backed up, bumping into his bed as he did so and fell over it in shock. The light stayed with him, not growing nor lessening at all. Was he going to be stuck glowing for the rest of his life? He forced himself up, shakily moving to his door to scream out: “I think I need a doctor.”
After all, this could be some sort of rare disease. It might kill him. He was too young to die! His mind leapt from worst-case scenario to even worse-case scenario and all he knew was that HE was glowing!
