Zombies Run S3M34 I Crush Everything

I ran this mission on August 22nd.

Ever since my friend started running with me, other friends who have never run before have now joined in. There are currently 4 people in the little group. They mostly do it with the motivation of losing weight. I also have 2 other friends wanting to be part of the group starting on Monday.

I’m happy that I have people to run with even though they’re all following C25K. I usually do my regular runs before I meet up with them and then we all do the couch to 5k program together.

Anyway, I signed up for a half marathon in March next year. Gotta get these legs moving.

Have I told anyone that one of my biggest fears is drowning???? I thought that after our rescue mission and getting Albert on the dinghy, we’d be going back to Abel. Why are we still hanging around the ships again?

We were quite confused when a giant squid started attacking the ships. Apparently it’s been feeding off the drug-filled severed limbs that were dumped into the ocean.

Dr. Myers saved the day and got an offer to stay from Holly, with all of us included in that offer. She accepted. Great. I guess this means I still have to be surrounded by ocean water for the next couple of missions. Getting seasick just thinking about it.

9. how does your five sleep?

after ages and ages of trying to force themself to go to sleep and wake up at certain times, runner five embraced the life-changing power of giving up and just falling asleep whenever they can (usually in the middle of the day and a few hours at night. also, fun side note, for the first year in abel, they had to be monitored while they slept because theyd randomly start choking or just stop breathing all together! the problem eventually got better with adjustments to their breathing tubes and the gradual healing of their throat but they still have choking fits every once in a while if they dont sleep in the correct position which is carefully propped up on their side/stomach at a specific angle that takes pressure off their neck, either that or sitting upright

10. is your five verbal?

nope. they sustained a horrible injury to their throat a year or so before the outbreak. they signed up for human trials on an experimental device to allow them to breathe more independently but the outbreak happened before they got the upgraded device that boasted that it would free up and support their vocal chords to allow for speech. they sometimes use noises (mostly clicks and whistles, if you can make it without moving your throat then they can probably do it) to communicate but usually just stick to sign

20. is your five native to england?

nope, australian. they were doing a small crowdfunded tour of england with their punk band when their injury happened, keeping them grounded there for about a year or so (would have been a lot longer but a certain company, comansys, took an interest in their case and provided a lot of fancy newly designed medical intervention that got them much healthier much faster than was previously thought possible). they actually could have gotten home before the outbreak but in a shocking case of cruel irony they decided to stay for another few months to try and have some positive experiences so their last memories of england before going home would be nice ones

I don’t remember when I did this mission. All I remember is that I was pretty busy and couldn’t even squeeze in five minutes to write a review about it.

ZR Keeper of Secrets

I went out for another run yesterday, though I didn't really get to go far because I went at lunch time and had a meeting in the afternoon. But anyway, at least I got my exercise in. Wanted to run today but this week has been full of meetings and most of them are annoying and unnecessary. You know, stuff that can be e-mailed instead.

Ended up watching the Arsenal vs Man City match on my phone during the meeting. I am completely neutral but I've always been mesmerized by the flowing nature of the game. My dad and I used to watch soccer games at the local stadium a lot. Those were fun days for me as a kid.

I also listened to ZR Season 3 Mission 14 Keeper of Secrets during the run.

But first, what is this lab in the middle of the forest and also the Lothlorien setup. I like the change of scenery from ground level, though. I imagined Nadia and R5 having lots of trouble balancing themselves on the swinging walkways.

And then the grey lynx. I hate it when animals are hurt, injured, or sick. Breaks my heart. And the fact that one of them turned into a zombie makes me sad and angry at the same time. The decapitation had to happen though.... to the dismay of Veronica McShell.

Wow, OG Runner 10's daughter!!!!! Accusing us of killing her dad, though? We gotta have a chat about that.

It has been a very warm autumn week in DC. Today (11/1) I went out for a 2-mile run after some really depressing back-to-back meetings. Running definitely takes my mind off stressful situations at work.

I listened to Zombies Run Season 3 Mission 1 "Break Your Heart."

Preliminary thoughts and maybe spoilers after the picture below:

So Tony from the final mission of Season 2 is now near Abel, though I thought he died by gunshot. I guess not. Was he revived as a half-zombie? I have so many questions.

And how did he recognize Abel Runner 5 when he was in London with NC Runner 5? I'm a bit confused but maybe we'll find out what's going on in the next mission.

I'm also very curious about Comansys. Hope we get to learn more about it.

ZRS3E34 I crush everything

I got up on time today and went out for a run at 4 am. It was so refreshing, getting back into my old schedule. I’m wide awake now and ready for the day. Thanks to my new cadence app, I’ve been keeping a pretty steady 13 minute mile pace. Not where I’d like to be, since I was running at 11 minutes per mile before, but since I’ve been off for so long it’ll do. Hopefully I make a good placement in the 5k in just about 3 weeks. The summer 5k is right during the summer festival, so there should be a plethora of people and I should be fine. I’ve been doing hills and doing alright so overall I’m not worried, so long as my apps all work correctly. Also, have I mentioned spotify’s running music? Spotify made special running tracks that adjust tempo to your steps per minute. I find that 160 steps is where I can run constantly without stopping, going up to 170 is pushing it and I have to stop at some point. It’s weird, it’s not that much more, but it is what it is. I put on spotify’s “The Chase” most often, but also occasionally “Epic” and they keep me on pace and, well, entertained isn’t really the word, but keeps my mind occupied from the run. I’d highly recommend trying them if you use spotify. Just search “running” genre and you’ll find the whole set. 

Mission thoughts:

I think I missed something, on my last run. When I started the mission, I wasn’t sure what was going on. I got the gist after a couple clips but it felt like I skipped a mission. I looked at the list afterwards and I didn’t skip one, so I must have just not been paying attention, or gone to long since my last run, or quite possibly both. Regardless, today was one of the most fascinating missions I’ve ever listened to. Not quite up there with the steam train missions or flashback mission from a while back in S3, but close. A giant squid attacked the comansys floatilla. A GIANT SQUID. A GIANT SQUID who was high on diseased human flesh. How awesome is that!? He literally sank a ship, tore a mans head off, and nearly sank a second ship, it was so cool!. Kudos to Six to Start, man, they sure are creative. It struck me that the storyline was kind of like one from Superhero workout, with the Aliens. Close, but not quite. Perhaps that was why they were so cool? IDK. At the end, Ed and Maxine were offered the chance to stay with the Comansys fleet, rather than go back and risk being mind controlled. Surprisingly, they both chose to stay. Ed I could see, to keep his daughter safe, but I figured Maxine would go back. I wonder what’s going on with her? She’s not acting like herself. All in all, the story line is getting better! I think the slow, boring lull of the beginning is officially over. It’s nice.
