As I come to the end of my binge-watching Inspector Morse, I find myself Googling for interesting reviews of the series. I run into one on IMDB that is undeniably entertaining. Curious about its author, I click on the user name to see what else he’s reviewed. I find a treasure trove of the most hilariously erudite, curmudgeonly, biting movie reviews I’ve ever read. Why is this person not an Internet celebrity? I think my favorite is his review of Pearl Harbor.
And then there’s this, of Silence of the Lambs: “You know, people rave about this film but I much prefer Disney's cartoon version with those spotty dogs. They made some kind of weird serial killer movie out of a great family film. They'll be making some kind of sick fake-documentary horror film out of Hansel and Gretel next.”
combatreview, whoever you are, thank you. Your last IMDB review is of Inspector Morse from 2008; I sincerely hope you have not since met with Morse’s fate, and that someday, you will grace us with more reviews.
