okay but au with piningjolras where enjolras has had a crush on grantaire for a while he’s just inexplicably attracted to him like he dreams about them being together and he wants to ask grantaire out or something so badly but he doesn’t do anything about it
because combeferre is his best friend and enjolras has known that combeferre has been in love with grantaire for years so he doesn’t make a move because he’s a good friend
and then grantaire finally approaches enjolras and declares he’s in love and enjolras is confused for a moment and then grantaire clarifies “with combeferre” and enjolras hastily and with great embarrassment gives him his blessing and tells him to ask combeferre out
which he does, and then the artist and doctor start dating and it’s the cutest most explosively angry relationship ever and everyone thinks they’re adorable and enjolras starts to get over his jealousy because he’s so happy for combeferre
and then he starts realizing that his crush on Grantaire has blinded him to his other best friend (of equal best friend value to Ferre ofc) who’s been there waiting for Enjolras to romantically notice him for literally y e a r s and enjolras suddenly realizes that while he might have had a crush on grantaire he has always, always loved courfeyrac, and he tells him so and courfeyrac immediately confesses his love back and probably cries with happiness
and then yeah eventually combeferre/grantaire and enjolras/courfeyrac go on totally rad double dates together and it’s the cutest thing like literally cavity-inducing. the end goodnight
