We’re planting trees in Kearny!!! This is our first step in our green infrastructure project to reduce the CSOs and flooding at the bottom of Bunny HIll
Our first event at Kearny Point was a success. We discussed the history of Kearny Point, and introduced our group Kearny AWAKE and our mission to help educate the community about CSOs.
We’re having an event!

A great example of how a community took action, beautified their community, and how they are reducing CSOs and making their community greener.
Kearny has 5 CSOs and 3 are along the Passaic River. A combination of Gray and Green Infrastructure can resolve and dramatically reduce CSOs in our town. Something as simple as rain gardens in strategic places can help beautify our community, clean our rivers, and reduce the financial burdens that CSOs can create.
