It's Baz's first year at university and, more notably, his first year of not having to live under his father's roof. Freedom is a beautiful thing. (As is the man that Baz sees almost everywhere he goes.) A series of meet-cutes (and meet-uglies) and the trials and tribulations of having a crush on a stranger.

“That was a dirty move, Snow.” Simon uses his free hand to grab a handful of snow “Rule number one of snowball fighting, Baz, no mercy,” Simon knows he’s grinning like an idiot, but he pulls a solemn face. “War is an ugly thing.” He thinks Baz almost smiles. OR It's Christmas Eve, and the drawbridge has closed, leaving the boys stranded outside of Watford in a snowstorm. They have to spend the night in Ebbs' barn to survive. There's a lot of goats, but only one couch; they have to share (for survival, obviously).

Simon is a NHL goalie—and a damn good one at that. He would be better, though, if he shut up and listened more. At least, that's what his coach, Baz Pitch, would say. They constantly butt heads at practice and games—something that would make any other coach trade the player in an instant. Baz, on the other hand, refuses to give up on Simon. He knows Simon has a lot of potential, and, though it may not seem like it, Baz wants him to succeed. It's the middle of Si's debut season, and these two are getting on each other's nerves more than ever. But, when something forces them to spend even more time together, they might just find themselves warming up to each other.

Between sharing a dorm room, and several classes, and Simon stalking him through the woods, and the catacombs, and on the football pitch, Baz would’ve said they were practically joined at the hip. That is, until an argument causes Simon to lash out and accidently cast a spell that actually links them to each other. Now the two must spend their winter break figuring out how to dispel the magic as the tether between them shrinks and they’re drawn closer and closer to each other, in more ways than one...

Reposting since it's December... This is a Snow/Baz Christmas fic based on the movie While You Were Sleeping, because I am a sucker for all things Christmas. Merry Christmas! Lonely orphan, Simon Snow, moved to the city to find his tribe. But so far all he's found is a crappy job at a train station coffeeshop and a hopeless crush on the most beautiful girl in London. When he saves her life on the station platform, he accidentally convinces her family he's her fiance. They invite him for his first ever family Christmas and welcome him into their lives. All except her best friend, Baz, who's sure there's something suspicious about this scone-baking, befreckled hero...

This is a Snow/Baz version of my favourite Christmas movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, in which Baz gets to see what the world of mages would have been like if he’d never been born. There’s angst, there’s fluff, there’s Christmas themed chapter titles! It’s a Carry On canon divergence starting from when Agatha ditches Simon at Christmas. Enjoy!
