I don’t even know who this is, but it made me so happy to read the wanting to leave, and then staying and being brave, and then telling your mom and her being proud of you. Because that’s my life. And I love it when I do something hard for me and my mom says she’s proud of me.

So you’re okay I guess. You are so gorgeous and kind and sassy and hilarious and punny. Maybe I’ll talk to you a few times in the future because we have some good conversations. Also really stupid ones. Like really stupid.

Dear Miranda,
Okay first of all, you are so so so gorgeous. Like absolutely stunning.
I am so glad that I got to know you this year in Leadership and on Spare. You are so funny and such a sweetheart. I really wish I had gotten to know you sooner because you are just such an awesome person. I can't wait to see where you go with your life because you will absolutely do amazing things. You are going to go so far.
I hope that life is and always will be swell for you because you deserve it. I hope that everything works out and I hope that you have a wonderful life.
I really really hope that we stay in touch and get closer as friends.
Please keep in touch.
Okay, Mel, here's what I learned about the whole "drivers test" process.
First things first, come prepared for the weather. Primarily that means if it's going to be sunny then make sure you have sunglasses or something to help you retain maximum visibility.
Once you get to the testing place, have your ID and such ready to go to make sure the legal process goes smoothly.
When you walk the examiner to your vehicle, I remember doing a walk-around to make sure everything was in order on the outside of the car (no obstructions, no damage, etc) before we actually got in. And part of the test is to identify various parts of the car (ex. hazard lights, turn signal, steering wheel) so make sure you're very familiar with the inside of your vehicle. Also, the examiner will make you test your brake lights/ turn signals so he/she knows they're working.
Here's where I recommend you surf the Internet. The examiner has this sheet of paper with various columns on misdemeanors and mistakes new drivers make. If you can, I'd highly recommend finding an example of that sheet somewhere on the interwebs, if you can. Because the thing is, not every mistake is weighed the same. Sometimes a mistake gets counted only a certain amount of times. Other times, the examiner will dock you every single time you make a certain mistake, whether it's three or thirty times.
There are also certain mistakes (I forget what they're called) that, if you make them, means an automatic failure of your driver's test. If you make any of those mistakes, the examiner will let you know, and you have to drive straight back to the testing place. The examiner should show you his sheet and point those automatic failures out to you before you begin the test, so it shouldn't be a complete shock.
Above all, remain calm. My driving examiner actually had to tell me to take deep breathes when I was panicking during parallel parking. Just breath. Relax. Panic means becoming forgetful, and being forgetful means making more mistakes.
That's all I can remember. If anyone has other advice they recall from their own driving exams, please feel free to add on and help Mel out, or if anything I've said is incorrect feel free to set it straight :)
