writing is all fun and games but logan just beat oscar’s ass at center ice and then forgives oscar MIND YOU OSCAR WAS IN THE WRONG

okay i had this idea that i got while listening to The Roads by Jonah Kagen where Logan comes back into the F1 racing scene not as a racer but as a commentator with F1TV and this is like a reverse brocedes thing which is oscar and logan are clearly still involved in each others lives and logan is still racing in IMSA and all that so he’s not always at the races, but he’s also one of oscar’s fiercest defenders especially when it comes down to oscar becoming a title contender again

now here’s where the lyrics come into play

These roads are changing me

-logan leaving the motorsport scene and having to recuperate mentally and slowly coming back to it, the path he originally took ended up hurting him one way or another so he had to pivot and find a new path to rediscover himself and his love for racing

But they all lead back to you

-logan watching f1 again and seeing oscar becoming a champion and knows that this was how it was always going to turn out, he knows that from here on out, whatever he chooses to do, will always tie back to oscar and whatever they had between them in the feeder series/their first year in f1

-they did karting together and then the feeder series and then formula one, they were always intertwined one way or another; they know each other like second skin. where oscar was, logan was close behind and that’s how the grid knew them and it was a bit odd to see that gap beside oscar that no one would be able to fill

I've done all I can do

-logan took the necessary steps to protect himself after he got dropped and did all the racing testing available to him, but also took care of his mental health and did what he had to do to ensure he could find a drive for the following calendar year (timeline is vague but this would take place in like 2026/2027)

But I chose to let you in

-logan had said in a team torque video (im 95% sure it was after australia) that he’s the one that sometimes doesn’t reply when someone texts him or something but im using this that they fell out of contact for a bit because logan was the one not responding rather than it being the other way around so when logan finally reaches out to oscar at the end of 2025, it’s him choosing to let oscar back in

Now the roads lead back to you

-they were always going to come back together, wether that was on track or off of it, logan and oscar are intertwined in ways others can’t exactly understand or explain, the friendship existed and it was real and it was theirs, and now logan is able to be there for oscar when it gets rough because it’s not easy when every single one of your reactions or how you drive that day are being examined under a microscope and of course, when oscar can, he pops by for a bit when logan races because he knows that he has to be there for logan in ways he couldn’t be when they were on the same grid

jeez, it’s been a while since i’ve done one of these but it was just an idea i had because i haven’t really written logan as an f1 driver in forever and im just in love with the idea of him being a part time commentator for f1tv and him being able to show that ‘yeah i know what im talking about, i used to drive one of those!’

anyway, i’m forever loscar-pilled until they publicly come out and say they aren’t friends but even then i will still be posting about them 🤩
