But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/1pe.2.9.NLT #chosen #Iamhis #cometohim #lockdownessential #HisnameisJesus🙌 (at Lockdown Diaries) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBLzSFxHrlU/?igshid=v5mzb65wcqtg

God is always there for us, we just need to offer our lives to him. 😇 #opendoor #opportunity #him #cometohim #offer
Come to Him.
It can be so easy to ignore God when we have sinned. Some people ignore Him because it helps them feel less guilty about what they have done, some ignore Him and act like it never happened. But my reason for ignoring God is because I feel too guilty to come to Him. My sin creates a barrier between me and God - I feel almost rude and disrespectful coming to Him after I have sinned because it can feel like I’m just brushing the bad stuff under the carpet, and I don’t want God to think that I’m okay with my sin. In fact, the last thing I want is to become comfortable with my sin. So I turn away from God in a fickle attempt to show my remorse.
How ridiculous and foolish is that?!
In sinful situations, who do we need? God. Who will welcome us with open arms, no matter what we’ve done? God. Who has already forgiven us? God! And most importantly, who will help us with our battle against sin? GOD!
I have been learning that God is who I need, that God is who I should always come to, in every single situation, in every part of my life.
Jesus says “whoever comes to me I will never cast out.” (John 6:37) and “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28).
Hosea 14:1 says “Return to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled because of your iniquity.”
It says it right there in the Bible - come to God! The most bizarre part of this situation is the bit inside me that thinks it’s a good idea to distance myself from God. But I know that in fact, coming to God is the ONLY thing to do. If we bring it all to God, He will help us. He wants us to come to Him because He loves us! We do NOT have to battle against sin on our own. Pray about it, ask for help - and He will give it to you. Avoiding God won’t get you out of sin, it will pull you in deeper.
Come to God - it is the only thing to do.
