Second attempt carving a comfort bird. However, this time in cherry! Cherry is also quite satisfying to carve with a sharp sloyd knife. However, many more sharpening trips. So far the #morakniv is cutting well, and just needs some honing to keep going. Not sure when or if this will get sanded. The cut surface isn't too bad. First attempt carving a comfort bird. Basswood, is quite satisfying to carve with a sharp sloyd knife. Sanding, on the other hand, I only wish I found therapeutic. Middle school shop teacher ruined any possibly enjoyment of sanding for me.
