Today I had the pleasure of meeting everybody at the Comfrey Project in Gateshead. They exist to promote well being through gardening, cookery and art to their participants, who are refugees and asylum seekers. I enjoyed a tasty homemade lunch with some of those pictured and have learnt about several different vegetable varieties such as lemon cucumber and a Portugese bean plus the health benefits of ‘covo’, which I know as ‘collared greens’. We’re hoping to set up a return visit soon so that the team can all come to Meadow Well, share a lunch together and see what we are getting up to in our gardens of late. Food and gardening uniting us all!
