some (minor) disclaimers under the cut

- It's best to read this in order, please don't be a dumbass like me and start with New Mutants (2009) lol

- As tends to happen with female characters, and native characters that have been around for as long as Dani has, I will give you a blanket warning that there are comics on this list where she is either whitewashed, oversexualized, or both. While that sucks, the stories inside are still worth reading. - For the Dark Avengers/Uncanny crossover, if you just want to read all of it, you can search up the Dark Avengers/Uncanny X-Men: Utopia (2009) TPB and it's the same as the issues listed. - I have not included every single Dani appearance, and if you want that, CMRO has it here but these are the best/most significant ones. - also, i would like to credit @/bobbinalong who inspired me to make this with their own jon kent/nia nal/jay nakamura reading lists! tysm!

Hey, author, I blame you for this. Your design for the riddler has turned me into reading his comics (any recommendations on which comic and where to read them for starters?), and by consequences yumeship myself with him. Fuck you (lovingly).

Comics:

- Batman: Run, Riddler, Run (1992) this riddler isnt very similar to my version, but its a short and good read

- The Detective Comics run writen by Paul Dini, from Detective Comics #821 to 852 (2006- 2009)

- Gotham City Sirens also writen by Paul Dini (2009- 2011) , it is centered aroud Ivy, Harley and Selina, but Riddler is part of the girls club too

- Batman: Zero Year by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo (2013- 2014)

- The Riddler: Year One (2022), its a prequel to the The Batman movie, writen by Paul Dano the riddlers' actor

Podcasts:

- Rogues! The Podcast (spotify), its not official but it has incredible quality, it follows loosely the continuity of Batman The Animated Series and Paul Dinis' comic run but you dont need to watch or read them to listen to it

- Batman: The Audio Adventures (youtube and spotify), it is official and very fun but has only 2 seasons and leavs you on a cliffhanger :( it also has a comic if you have trouble following with only the audio

Games:

- The Batman Arkham games, they can make you hate him a little bit because his riddles and puzzles can get tiring, but I find them really fun tehee, also the games are like really good

Video media:

- Batman The Animated Series

- Gotham tv show, it isnt a great riddler representation, but it is the reason why I fell in love with the character and he still occupies a big place in my heart

- The Batman 2022

MY MICHAEL LANE READING LIST

Michael has a very short run, so I’ve catalogued all of his main appearances. It’s a quick read if you know where to look, and thankfully I do. I hope everyone enjoys reading his comic!

THE BAT-DEVIL ARC

Batman issue #666

His first appearance outside of cameo. This issue is very important to Michael’s delusions and future character development. As well explains his dynamic with Bruce further on.

Batman Issue 672-674.

Michael is introduced as a villain, all of which is contained here. The rest of the discussion on The Three Ghost of batman could be important context, but you can also just read him torturing Bruce. Both work!

You can read that all in the Batman and Son omnibus for Damian Wayne’s first arc! :)

Additionally! Batman RIP isn’t needed but know he was in the helicopter crash with Batman during #681

After that we move into Azrael. This takes place mainly during Batman Incorporated / Battle for the cowl arcs but you really don’t need to know the plot for him.

Azrael (2009) issue 1-14!

His Run is technically divided in two halves, read it normally until this point. If you want you can ignore his outside appearances and skip back to 2009, but then you would be confused on Shroud and Batman & Michael’s camaraderie

Technically not necessary but it’s referenced multiple times, as well helps you understand Dick and Michael’s relationship going into Issue #15!

same as the annual but its also like, 6 pages, so you can just skim it and get all the content you need to understand Bruce and Michael.
