i started crying watching a bollywood romcom the other day because it really just hit me that i never saw people who looked like me get to be treated as worthy of love. i rarely watch bollywood but it just made me realize how much i never saw anyone who looked like me get to be treated like the main characters, and deserve to be romanced and pining and flirt without the ever floating spectre of The White Viewer.
