i can't believe ppl are arguing whether zack snyder can be compared to frank miller when bvs is partly an adaptation of frank miller's the dark knight returns you guys remember snyder did 300 too right and watchmen snyder is bringing back the grim and gritty phase that followed watchmen and tdk in comics when a decade of writers and editors wanted to riff on those same themes but didn't get them right this is, like, comics history 101 stuff, i learned this in a wizard magazine article in 1993
