Been wanting to draw the difference between the RED team and BLU team from TF2 but I feel like I wanna tell my theory on them first. And I guess some twists on it? (Idk if they’re really twists)
First, I do believe in that clone theory. Red is the original and the BLU team are the clones.
BUT, everyone on the BLU team is the clone EXCEPT BLU Engie. RED Engie is actually the clone and BLU Engie is the original.
I believe this because in the comic with Dell’s grandfather you could see he’s obviously wearing BLU right?
I think, genuinely BLU Engie is the original Engie while the RED is the clone, unlike the rest of the RED mercs that are actually the original. Does this make sense?
I also think about how since RED Engie is on the RED team he thinks he IS the original Engie when he’s not. BLU Engie knows RED Engie feels this way but he doesn’t say anything. And he also doesn’t say anything to the BLU mercs to not startle them. Get what I’m saying?
Also with the whole hand thing. Personally I believe both Engie’s cut their hands off in different ways, and dealt with them differently.
BLU Engie was drunk, was making the Gunslinger to experiment and when drunk off his ass enough thought “I should replace my hand with this gunslinger, yeah, that’d be such a good idea!” And when he did it he realized what he did. I think he doesn’t regret it, but he covers the hand with a type of skin cover, like fake silicon skin.
With RED Engie I personally believe he did it just cuz he could lol. That God complex is STRONG in RED Engie.
Which also brings up—I think BLU Engie has an obvious god complex too, but not as strong as RED’s. RED’s a different breed 💀
I think that is enough said about Engie? Um, the whole clone theory thing is self explanatory, the BLU team are the clones of the RED team (the exception of Engie, BLU Engie is the original while the RED is the clone).
Now another thing, which is a bit confusing: Scout’s mom wears the blue and red dress (switches from one to the other) but is specifically RED Scout’s mother. BLU Scout (and this goes for the rest of the mercs) have “memories” (which really aren’t memories, just a copy of RED’s memories) of “his” mother. But Scout’s mom has no idea of BLU Scout. Neither does the rest of the mercs parents, they have no idea about the clone thing. But the BLU Team genuinely think that is their family.
I know that’s confusing I’m so sorry 🙏💀 But I’m thinking hard here man
I think that’s all there is to know? I’m gonna work on designs for the BLU team (eventually) and compare them to the RED team. I think I’ll do that cool thing where they’re different in tiny ways. Idk, stay tuned for that though 🤙
