Ugh indeed! We have a lot to fix in our yard, too. We put in most of the drip system nine years ago, so the tubing is starting to go and so is the vacuum breaker. The UV damage to the above-ground portion of the system is pretty amazing, since we’re at 5000′. 

The part of the system that’s older than 9 years is now officially FAILED. The weeds in that part of the yard are incredible because of the leaks. I’m tempted to leave them, but they’ll just become a fire hazard later in the year. 

AH, the joys of home-ownership...*marches off to battle, covered in sunscreen, armed with a machete and loppers for another round of prune-to-the-ground-and-maybe-one-day-they-will-finally-die with the wild quince and roses.
