Conlanging 12: imperative mood
ok theres only 2 things on the parameters list i havent touched on left, and thats the imperative mood and relative clauses. relative clauses have this whole huge long thing explaining what they even are, so im gonna do just the imperative mood right now.
Imperative mood: Has a morphologically dedicated second singular imperatives but no morphologically dedicated second plural imperatives (unlike English, where the imperative is morphologically the same as the declarative).
im not at all sure what this means. my best guess is this is like the ‘command form’ that my teachers talked about in spanish. like the commands eat/don’t eat are come/no comas, respectively (if im remembering right). erbs are always conjugating all over the place in spanish.
so i guess this would mean that there is a special way the verb would conjugate in a command, and the phrase no morphologically dedicated second plural imperatives means that there is just no distinction between you and ya’ll forms?
if i say that the ‘command form’ conjugation for second singular imperatives is to add -z to the end of the verb in its infinitive, then the command go! would become TAZ! and would be the same whether it was meant as you go or ya’ll go.
this is of course, the same as english except that we dont have any special command conjugation on verbs at all. thats what the parameters say as well, imperative is morphologically the same as the declarative and all that.
well this turned out to be much simpler than i had anticipated, which is great! take a foreign language in school, everyone.
just one more parameters post after this and then ill look into making a few more words
