Another #30minutemissions done. The Spinatia (command type) I’m behind on posting, but I actually just finished the last one I currently have.
I haven’t talked about it before, but these kits are super easy to put together. The runners are so well designed you almost don’t need nippers.
And the parts all snap together without glue and look good even without paint
I think there was a time you said that Happy Chaos could be a threat to Dizzy by manipulating her, even though he has no direct interest in Gears, but isn't Dizzy mentally strong enough to avoid being taken advantage of?
Happy Chaos has the ability to control people to a certain extent, but we don't exactly have a clear idea of what limit there is with him in particular.
What can be said (at least with regard to Command Type Gears), is that they have enough self-awareness and willpower to at least resist "commands" from their own kind... which is essentially what Sol warned Dizzy about with regards to the Justice Copy that was created by Crow Kuruwaba a good 6 years prior.
Command Type Gears can also control Youkai, as Valentine did during her campaign against Izuna's tribe. Even though a Valentine is not necessarily as powerful as a Command Type Gear like Justice or Dizzy, they can still hold a great influence over certain kinds of beings, not just Gears created from their own series (like was the case with Justice).
In Happy Chaos' case, he could control normal humans and brainwash them in to doing or thinking whatever he wanted, and even give them a limited scope of self-awareness at the same time... which is a bit more advanced than even the brainwashing Valentine performed on Sin Kiske.
He was even able to manipulate Anji Mito temporarily, which had near fatal results.
If Happy Chaos wanted to, he could probably also manipulate Sol and Dizzy if they were caught unawares, but there's probably also a "trick" to being able to do that, especially given that Sol himself survived an encounter with Bedman in the Backyard.
If it were an easy task for Happy Chaos to manipulate Sol, he wouldn't have had to use Nagoriyuki as his personal bodyguard and enforcer. The same would likely be true of Dizzy, though Dizzy's combat ability isn't quite as aggressive or direct as Sol's would be, so even if she was powerful, it would take a lot longer for her to deal with someone like Happy Chaos.
Does Testament have the will to resist Justice if he confronts her and she's attempts to use Gear resonance to control him? Sure, he resisted her somewhat when he orchestrated his fake tourament and even managed to shrug off her copy's command ability, but in both cases, he was dealing with a weaker Justice. Since she's operating at her full capacity, will he be able to be truly be free himself from her grasp?
Dr. Paradigm is in a similar situation as he was under Justice’ control in the past too… so far, there’s nothing indicating precisely how controlling other Gears works, other than what Sol has indicated about Justice only being able to control Gears (and Youkai) that existed “after” she was created.
But even that seems to be limited to only a local area. Justice was only able to control the O.P.U.S. in Illyria, and not other countries when gathering her energy, during that time she didn’t try to control Sol or the rest of the Gears in the area… only just the Opus units.
Chronus claimed that the fusion process with her was incomplete too, so that might be part of the reason. Also the way Opus are constructed suggests that they are more compliant to obeying orders than Gears are (since Gears can evolve past that requirement potentially).
Gears who have developed their own will and consciousness probably have a higher chance of shrugging off mind control than Gears that haven’t (so Testament is probably more capable of resisting now that he’s aware).
Case in point, Sin was brainwashed by Valentine in to fighting Sol and Izuna, but after Sol knocked some sense in to him (and then some), Sin regained his senses and was able to resist Valentine’s influence.
Sol once warned Dizzy of any resonance that she might experience, and not to let it affect her, so it’s likely she might share than information with sentient Gears of her own kind… that said, she has the same abilities as Justice (being a Backup), so that power of hers might even serve as a kind of “noise canceler” for any Gears nearby (in theory).
I have a question about Dizzy's memory implants, particularly what purpose they could serve. Since it's been hinted that she has Justice's memories, do you think that when Justice conceived her(assuming she was conceived in any traditional fashion), that she wanted to Dizzy to carry on her prerogative as Queen of the Gears and enemy of humanity? Or, assuming she was born artificially, it was the intention of her creator to breed her into a perfect killing machine for his/her purposes?
There are several theories concerning Dizzy’s origins, moreover there’s evidence to indicate that Dizzy is more ‘artificial’ than natural-born.
If the latter is the case, it would most likely mean that Dizzy was intended to either be a replacement for Justice in the case of her death (though if that’s the case, whomever designed her didn’t know that Gear Cells continue to function even if their host dies), or, even worse… to be a more advanced version of Justice… since her human D.N.A. is still present as a Half-Gear, and theoretically might have been a deliberate process.
All I can say for certain is that Dizzy was discovered in America, and the United States was responsible for the majority of Gear Manufacturing in the 2060s onwards.
Then of course, there’s the defense mechanisms built in to Gears that makes them naturally strong… whether that involves biological programming or external programming… is unclear… but if the former is the case, Gears might not be too distantly related to Valentines in that respect (even if Valentines are closer to humans in construct).
Regardless of her true origins, however… we know without a doubt that Dizzy inherited the Prime Field Gear Cells of Justice and the Prototype Gear (Sol Badguy)… how she obtained that Prime Field is anyone’s guess… though it is possible someone managed to harvest it from Justice herself when she was sealed away (or perhaps sometime before, since the incident in 2074 replicated Justice’ DNA several times over in order to produce the giants that appeared in Japan before it was destroyed by Justice).
Dizzy’s memories of the Crusades and her encounter with the Anti-Gear Forbidden Beast “Eddie” indicate several things:—While it is true she could share Justice’ memories… Eddie was not present during the Crusades and only manifested in 2180, which indicates that Eddie was only one of many Forbidden Beasts that existed during the Great War (possibly a small collective that the Bureau designed to combat the Gears as a last resort if the Sacred Order failed).—Testament refers to Eddie as a “ghost” or “Crusades Victim”, even though he had only just been born in 2180. It’s more than likely Testament knew others like Eddie’s kind at that time.—Gears do not necessarily simply “obey orders” from Justice… in a lot of ways their resonance with the Command Type Gear was not unlike a “hive mind”… which means that all Gears have the capacity to share a unique set of memories that is universally gained by any experiences from the rest of the 'hive’ of Gears. In other words, it’s like a shared collective consciousness… not unlike the “Universal Will” (Merciless Apocalypse).
Assuming Dizzy’s memories were something she “gained” from other Gears in the past… whether it was from her Defense mechanisms or simply interacting with Eddie who was programmed to kill Gears like herself… it could indicate that even if her past was artificial to some extent… in other ways it could have also been a “biologically engineered” form of programming instead of “mechanically”, which puts a whole new spin on what could have been the truth behind her past!
Then there’s the problem of the possibility that Dizzy was designed to surpass Justice: we already know that Pope Ariels intended to create and mass produce Gears that could act independently without a Command Type to guide them… in fact that’s the very reason why the O.P.U.S. Gear Super-soldiers still continued to function once Justice was overloaded, even though she hadn’t fully activated despite giving them the 'command’ to attack Ky, Sol, Sin, Leo, etc… and that command was also “unique” to the Opus, because despite being a fighting force that intended to stop Justice from being activated, the majority of the group consisted of Gears (Sin, Dizzy, Sol, Paradigm), and under normal circumstances might have fallen victim to Justice’ influence… and yet they didn’t even indicate that Justice was trying to manipulate them in the least.
Independent Gears that “still follow orders” and “function” despite a Command Type not being present… the only way such Gears could exist is if whomever designed those Gears knew about the innate “resonance component” common to Command Type Gears… and the ONLY way they’d know about that is if someone tried to design a Command Type Gear or studied one (or two)!
Come what may… Gear Technology and its connection to Dizzy are still quite a bit of a mystery… even if we have some idea the culprits behind such research. If this speculation is in any way accurate (however minute), it might mean that Gears, Humans, and Valentines are a lot more closely related than first glance!
Why do you think That Man was interested in obtaining a sample of Solaria's Gear Resonance data? Do you think he has intentions of creating another Justice or further his research into Gear tech after the affair with the Universal Will is resolved?
Currently that is a mystery.
Not only because we don’t know why “That Man” needed the data, but also because we don’t really know the ‘cause’ and origin of Gear Singing.
You see, it has a lot to do with the fact that Justice had the power to command Gears made after she was created.
Because she was so complete and fully sentient she somehow “developed” this ability to control Gears through ‘noise’.
It may not be something she was fully aware of being able to do upon awakening as a Gear… meaning that Gear Singing is outside even “That Man’s” plans and expectations, which would probably be the main reason why he wished to study it further.
Still, resonance and the ability to “attune” ones self seems to come in handy for adapting to the Backyard, which appears to be the reason why he and Sol have been able to enter the Backyard and come back unscathed without their souls being crushed…
This may have a lot to do with why Bedman thinks of Sol as a potential threat to his plans, though we don’t fully understand what those plans are yet.
Still, I don’t think “That Man” would have a need to recreate Justice, as even Dizzy and Sin inherited much of her power and even gained powers of their own.
More importantly, keep in mind that “That Man” relies heavily on Sol as the “Prototype Gear” rather than focusing on Justice herself… so Sol may be more important than Justice if this information is to be reliable.
