Okay I have something I need to say. 

i don’t believe for one damn minute that Romanced Cullen “hadn’t considered” how the Inquisitor’s background would effect things. 

With Trevelyan he says because Templars don’t hold titles he hadn’t considered hers. Bullshit. 

With Lavellen it’s because elves aren’t treated differently in the circle he hadn’t thought of what it would mean with her being Dalish. Bullshit. Extra bullshit because he knows damn well that Circle elves and the Dalish are very different. Cullen isn’t ignorant. 

He is so calculating in everything he does. He worried the shit out of caring for the Inquisitor and why he thought it wouldn’t or shouldn’t happen because “you’re the Inquisitor. We’re at war.” He would have absolutely thought about how their background, their families, their lives would be a factor because he cares for her. He’s not the type of man to ignore what might be very important to the one he cares for then tack on a ridiculous “I hope that doesn’t.... does it... bother you?” when the Inquisitor brings it up. Even him being relationship rusty doesn’t mean he’s uncaring to it all. To write him to say otherwise makes him sound self absorbed and insincere.

He felt her presence before he saw her. Cullen looked up from his desk and saw her waiting in the open doorway. She gave him a small smile. 

“Commander Cullen, I was hoping we could talk. Alone?”

His heart leapt to his throat. 

“Alone? I mean, of course.”

He lead her out to the battlements overlooking the lower camp. It would be relatively quiet there and far enough from his office they shouldn’t be bothered. The wind whipped at her hair and his fur pauldrons, warmer than it had been in the previous days. 

His stomach turned in knots and he knew of his nervous habit of rubbing his neck but couldn’t help himself. What would she say? She must know his affections and he had thought she returned them. Was she here to let him down gently? Of course. The Inquisition was more important and he steeled himself for the rejection of what he could not ask for. 

“Ah. There was something you wished to discuss.”

What I want to know is how Cassandra and Cullen got their scars between DA2 and DAI. I want canon stories of them getting their faces jacked up to the point of leaving deep scars. I want to know of their pain, their survival and their anger, of their vanity.  Also I need more Carver, older and scarred Warden Carver.  Gah.

Squall was half-awake as he walked into the living area of their now shared apartment. Selphie hadn't come to bed. He was worried. And there she was on the couch, curled and sleeping, one hand on the steadily growing child in her stomach. The SeeD commander retreated back to the room for a minute to retrieve the blanket from the bed and a pillow, then returned. He placed the pillow beneath her head, covered Selphie with the blanket, and kissed her temple. Squall would sleep at the table.

Our muses are a married couple that has recently got in a fight. My muse, instead of sleeping in bed with yours, is lying uncomfortably on the couch. How does your muse react?

Truthfully, Selphie had lost track of time once she huffed and plopped herself down on the couch, hormones making her much more touchy than she normally would have been over something so trivial.

She didn't even remember she had fallen asleep until he came over and gently shifted her to be more comfortable. Selphie's eyes fluttered open once he pulled back, able to react just quickly enough to reach out and grab his hand before he could step away from her grasp. Her voice was thick with exhaustion and her eyes were half-lidded, but she managed to mumble a somewhat coherent, "I'm sorry."

For a while, Selphie still wondered if Squall's happy acceptance of her news was only for her and not completely genuine. She has since dropped that thought, instead trying not to burden Squall with too much to worry about, while at the same time trying to balance letting him experience these things with his child, too.

...And she may take a bit too much amusement in the thought of Squall waking up one night to a little punch to the gut if she ends up trying to fall asleep in his arms while facing him.
