Thinking About My Version Of The Cold Batch
About how the Cold Batch found this random vod'ika with a defect that couldn't be easily hidden like heterochromia walking around alone, which normally only happens when either their hatch is dead or when the hatch doesn't want to get attached to their vod so they distance themselves.
About how the Cold Batch took him in and helped him get back to his "room" and kept an eye on him, basically adopting him into the fold with Archer.
About how they love their vod'ike so much, they would literally kill for them.
About how the Batch had started calling Spar, well Spar, at first not understanding why he insisted that wasn't his name when the Kaminoan handlers called him that and laater on because Spar then said it was weird not having them call him that.
About how Bacara was Davin's favourite and thus was often taken aside for extra training and history lessons, thus wasn't able to hear a lot of stories that Spar told the rest of the batch and participate in the lessons of mando'a.
(About how everyone knew that Bacara and to a lesser extent Neyo were Etad'ika's favourite, while Kite was Arch'ika's with Mag and Faie being undoubtly the seconds.)
About how they try to keep the fact that Spar barely manages to keep the Worse of the trainers away from them, knowing that if they told their vod'ike that they would worry.
(About how after Spar got Jango's memories back, he didn't realize that he was distancing himself from the Cold Batch and the others, only wanting to keep them together and not realizing what was happening in the batch.)
About how Spar not being focused on protecting the Batch and more on escaping meant that the Batch was getting even worse attention from the trainers.
About the Batch forced themselves to become distant of Archer and Hound (sweet Arch'ika and E'tad'ika) because they didn't want them to suffer because of them.
About how they forced themselves to cut contact with Hound and Archer right after Spar's "death", even though they wanted nothing but to keep them close because they didn't want to loose another vod.
About how they knew that Hound's (E'tad'ika's) Batch and Archer's (Arch'ika's) Batch and the batches that adopted the members of the latter all hated them for abandoning their vod'ike
About how they knew they were considered for reconditioning and at most decommisioning because of the "chance" of them coming out like Spar after spending so much time with him as their assigned Alpha trainer/handler.
About how they hoped that Archer and Hound weren't going through the same, even though they knew that deep down their closeness to the batch would cause them some kind of trouble, even if only when being considered for a promotion.
About how they only got scoff free with Sull basically fighting for their behalf so that instead of possibly suffering reconditioning/decommisioning they would have extra training under the worse trainers "to make sure that what happened with Spar didn't happen with them".
About how they knew that but couldn't help but resent Sull a little when they got back later than the curfew would usually allow to, all aching to the bones full of bruises and were forced to adapt their habits and personalities to survive.
About how they were planning to fold Archer and Hound back in and beg for their forgiveness, but all it took for them to see them interacting with their batches to realize that they hurt them enough and that distancing themselves wasn't the right thing to do.
About how they knew that even if they tried the batches would stop them, it was clear by the glares.
(About how they sometimes wondered what would have happened if they haden't distanced themselves.
About how they saw how their vod'ike looked at them, all sad, and how it broke their hear in pieces.
About how they resigned themselves to watch from afar, not feeling like they deserved their vod'ike love and forgiveness.)
About how Faie, Neyo and Bacara took the brunt of the attention of the trainers, because if they couldn't protect their vod'ike after distancing themselves, they will protect the ones they can, namely Kite and Mag, the designed "Younger brothers".
About how the moment they got assigned to their battalions they secretly talked with each other(and later openly, when they knew their Jedi would have no problem with it, in fact, they incentivated it).
About how hard they cried when they one day when doing their daily check on Archer and Hound files they discovered that Hound "was wiped with his company", to the point where the ones with Jedi checked on them, asking if they were alright? What happened?
(About how their Jedi either discovered then or a later on what happened.)
About how they thought they failed their vod'ika by not being there.
(About how they wondered if sweet E'tad'ika thought about them in his last moments.)
About how Faie, Bacara and Neyo closed themselves more after Kite and Mag's "death".
About how they didn't speak with each other for a long time because they had an argument about whether or not they should reassign Archer to try and protect him.
About how they got back to talking to each other after having a battle together or having a near death miss and realizing that their arguments.
About how they sometimes they still pause and wonder, if they had done something different, would Hound and Archer be with them? Would Spar, their older brother they miss even if the last memories they have of him aren't kind, be still with them and have not fallen into insanity?
